This MIGHT be cool....provided that it retains some of its original style.  I think if they went overboard on the energy weapon stuff it'd turn into a sci-fi shooter and I think we've got enough of that with the Unreal Tournament series.  I'm not bemoaning this at all...just that I think Battlefield is a little different in scope.  Its always tried to adhere to history and then modern day time periods with a game oriented feel.  It works...its not perfectly historical or realistic but it has a gritty war movie feel.

If they do the same with this...then that'll be excellent.  A sort of Halo'esq or C&C: Tiberian Sun sort of setup would be nifty.

The video looks very cool indeed...may have something there!

I suspect it'll be mainly ammo-based rather than energy based weapons, if that video is of said game.
