After some careful thinking and discussion on the Staff forum, we've decided that things are getting a
little out of hand in some places. Things are going from from off-topic to general stupidity, and in some cases the content of threads is wholy un-suitable for this forum.
To this end I decided to post this message and statement: as of now anything deemed unsuitable by the staff can be owned or (in extreme cases) deleted on sight. Most specifically are the various topics regarding the recent World Trade Centre disaster. Whilst we're not boycotting the topic all-together, we feel that some of the recent topics have been without point or completely unsuitable for the forum. If something important happens then you are still free to post about it and discuss it, but this doesn't stretch to posting funny images anymore.
Also note that "unsuitable" will be defined by the staff and we don't want to argue about it. If you
do have an arguement then please email us instead of posting on the forums, as that post will be owned or deleted because it's not needed. (So any complaint that you dont ICQ or email to us will not be regarded as a complaint at all).
Additionally, some topics have started to become "spam" topics where the only purpose anymore is to gain posts. I ask that this be kept to a complete minimum, as if we find people spamming stupidly their post count will be reset anyway - why take the risk.
Again, this isn't boycotting small outbreaks of stupidity, jokes and so on - but please use your heads and know when to stop.
Finally let me just say that this message was completely composed by me, so any questions about it should be levelled at me alone - whilst the general move was agreed by everyone, I made this - it's my post.
To conclude - I know this isn't a massive problem but the HLP forums have had an excellent track record so far and we'd like to try and keep it that way, think before you post.
Thanks
