Am I the only one who sees this as just a collosal waste of school funding?

Of course, the highschool that I go to isn't paid for by taxpayers, but I'm still betting they were a big chunk of the $26 million initial pricetag of the school.

God damnit. I was going to do something like this for my project last year and then abandoned it. Sure, someone somewhere must've built a biometric access system in an academic institution... oh wait, no they ****ing hadn't until this - I could've had a ground breaking project.

I got offered a Phd scholarship to do that a while back.  Well, on biometric database storage & use for access & security use, anyways.  Still not decided if I regret turning it down.
