Re: We got mother****in' snakes!
Am I the only one who finds it somewhat unsettling - not to mention downright worrying - that we're having a discussion on tentacle rape?!!

It doesn't surprise me at all, actually. :nervous:
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Re: We got mother****in' snakes!
From the Wikipedia article:

[q]In recognition of the unprecedented internet buzz for what had been a minor movie in their 2006 line-up, New Line Cinema ordered five days of additional shooting in early March 2006[6] (the principle shooting had wrapped in September 2005). While re-shoots normally imply problems with a film, the producers opted to add new scenes to the film to take the movie from PG-13 into R-rated territory and bring the movie in line with the growing fan expectation. Among the reported additions is a vulgar line that originated as an internet parody of Samuel L. Jackson's traditional movie persona: "I want these mother****ing snakes off the mother****ing plane!"[/q]

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Do they realize that the "unprecedented internet buzz " is becuase we're making fun of it because it sounds so stupid?

I think we're all gonna be seeing this one, no matter what we think of it.

That kind of publicity is always positive seeing how paying for a ticket is the production studio's objective.

Re: We got mother****in' snakes!
'The triumph of that populist approach is the insertion of a line of dialogue from one of the fake trailers--"I'm tired of these motherf_______ snakes on this motherf_______ plane!"--directly into Jackson's mouth. "It's kind of difficult to watch me in a movie and not hear me say motherf_______ once," he says. "I wanted to say it in Star Wars, so I'm glad we got it in here." George Lucas and other directors may bristle at the thought of an audience hijacking their unfinished product, but Ellis--who claims he has bought almost $1,000 of unofficial Snakes merchandise on the Internet--has embraced it to the point that he agreed to let New Line run a contest in which the best song inspired by the title will run over the closing credits. "I have no ego," says Ellis. "You have to be smart enough to collaborate with everybody when you're making a movie, so why not work with the people you're making the movie for?"'

I love this guy, he's earned the price of a movie ticket in my books, simply for finally figuring it out.
