Hello,

I am one of the co-founders of DescentBB.net I am working on a new site and need some FreeSpace gurus. I was pointed in this direction.

Who might be interested and also whos the admin here? I didn't see a Staff link or anything similar.

You can read more about it CLICK HERE.

My ultimate goal is to provide a platform where all lovers of 6DoF can meet and also work with manufactures of gaming tools and a portal for game developers to interact with the broder 6DoF Community.

YiD,

Mike "KoolBear" Sullivan

I never liked Descent.

I kept getting turned around. Then my **** would start flashing and I'd be spinning around with no goddamn idea where I was going or what was attacking me. And it only got worse once I throttled up.

I'm very much a 'there's the floor' kinda guy.

Shade, Thanks!

Rictor that is my goal indeed. I believe that we have enough 6DoF people to make it easy for game developers and financiers to justify the investment it takes to pull off a game.

an0n, There's an auto -leveling feature there's actually 2 different settings one or which keeps the floor down at all times :)

Thankfully an Old Skool Descent Player “Zach Briggs” is heading up the Core Decision effort currently in process by the HighOctane Team.

I’m not looking to do anything with this site but promote 6DoF, hopefully it’ll be a place where we can exchange many things, maybe even getting some of us to play the others game:)

The Freespace community is impressive in all of your accomplishments, most impressive indeed.

But Freespace like Descent are old games even though they will likely be played for years to come.

BUT we need to should start thinking of the 6DoF Community and find ways to promote ourselves as a viable user base, one worthy of developers/investors time and money!

I welcome everyone to visit us at the DescentBB.net and help more importantly help me to keep 6DoF Alive!

BTW, thanks for the Cluster Map that's pretty kool! :)

Hah. Never try to make a run through the entire level. Then you have every enemy you pass on your ass, instead of picking them off one at a time as you go through.
An0n, your a funny, funny man.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
