Neptune Class Destroyer, Concept Art
This is a destroyer for Independence War 2 when the SDK is released. Anyone have any suggestions for improvements and such?

Thanks.

the density of hydrogen alone in space isnt high enough for that, sadly.

But who cares, its fiction

when do we get to see the model?

Once someone wants to do it.  I'm not too good at modelling

The screen would be for something like the Efreet.

For something that small, perhaps.  But if you use a Bussard Ram Scoop (which uses magnetic fields), the density of hydrogen is more than high enough.

Doubtful.  Interstellar H gas is about one atom per cubic meter.  That means you'll have to vaccum up some 10^14 cubic kilometers of vaccum just to get one kilo of Hydrogen gas.  Granted you'll have better densities in a solar system, but still, not enough to make it worthwhile unless you're going at C-fractional velocity.

The name "Neptune-class" is copyright of NeoHunter. Hehehe.......nah. Just joking. Just that it shares the same name as my not so good looking cruiser.

It came from outer space! What? Dunno, but it's going back on the next flight!

You drew that? Hot damn, that's sweet! Can't wait for someone to model it.

I'd say so.  To get more hydrogen than you're burning, you'd need scoops the size of a bloody orbital, for something the mass of a GTVA capital ship.

Nice pic. Reminds me of a Battletech WarShip, but better.

Only the magnetic field needs to be really big; it's not really necessary for the actual scoop to be physically large (though it does help).

The size of the Ramscoops won't do squat if there isn't enough hydrogen around to collect to keep the drives burning.

Yea, great thing about the Flux Engine, multiple docking ports

There's plenty of shipyard and freighter models already in the game, but look for some possible new ones

erm, it isn't too complex and I've been getting the hang of UV mapping, so I'll give it a shot.
