Back when B5 was airing, I made a point of recording and archiving
every single episode on VHS tape. Yes I was that big of a B5 fanboy. Being able to chat personally with JMS on the GEnie forums was cool too.
Anyway, doing some spring cleaning this weekend, I come across the box of B5 tapes... and I force myself to admit that this is 50 pounds of VHS tapes that I'm never going to watch again, especially now that the entire series is out on DVD. So I'm pitching it, along with a pile of other old movies that I recorded off cable before I had the financial means to simply buy them-- including my copy of Heavy Metal that I taped off Showtime years before it was officially available on home video.
So farewell, old mountain of tapes! It goes against every fibre of my packrat being, but old crap has to go to make room for the new.
Anyone else dealt with this sort of thing lately?
