This is a piece I'm doing for art class; I'm just fleshing out the colors rihgt now on the computer for the real painting. Sorry for the crappy image, but it's quite large and too big for a scanner.

do not torment the sleep deprived artist, he may be vicious when cornered,
in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,
and less likely to stab you in the eye with a mechanical pencil

Nice man. Very nice. :D
As turnsky said, love the perspective.

Hope you show us the end result. :)

Great perspective.  Figures look good as well.

Aren't you supposed to be smouldering?

Anyway... :wtf:

Thanks for the compliments guys. Any tips on color schemes?

Offhand; muted grey/light brown for the building, white and perhaps red/blue for the robes (create a focal point, and symbolise the intensity of arguement in otherwise quiet and neutral surroundings); you could also add a bright-spot at the top of the window(I presume it's the window?) to try and emphasise the general unimportance of such arguements (pettiness, right?) in the face of the issues of the 'real' world.  Or you go to a more dark/surrealistic route and depict it as a petty arguement as the world outside is literally falling apart; although I suspect this wouldn't be as well suited given the general feel of the picture so far and in particular the angle.

Really good conveyance of emotion/body language on the characters, BTW; might want to redden up the cheeks etc and add to that.

Yeah either as aldo said or maybe go a more regal colour tone with warm purples and red streaks for the buildings and a warm / dark blue mix with the robes.

Heh, "May I see your cold, frosty, nipples?" Sounds akin to a Pulp Fiction line.

That pretty much hit the nail on the head as far as to what I was planning, and the bit for the window is a great addition :) However, I'm having trouble producing the proper tones for the building with watercolors. Thanks for the tips though, I shall try them out :D

Didn't see your message :)

But the bad news is my art teacher made me mess up the piece. I'll post it later, but it's pretty nasty. (She wanted me to do a triad color scheme of red blue and yellow...and she made me do a weird dark yellow for the building :wtf:)

Ask her what she's smoking, then ask her to share.
Take a sample of this item and mail it to me pronto. :D

UT, that's awesome - really inventive angle as has already been said, more importantly it really underscores the true pettiness of whatever it is those two are arguing about. Can't wait to see it coloured.
- Eddie Kent Woo, Setekh, Steak (of Steaks), AWACS. Seriously, just pick one.

Pff.  Art teachers.  Bloody bunch of charlatans, taking the pleasure and originality of art and transforming it to a mechanical process devoid of joy or innovation.  Art teachers are the reason I'm not an artist.

Aw. *hugs* for aldo and Setekh. ;)

Yeah, some art teachers are really bad for peoples creativity.
Though your both pretty talented anyway, so they must be doing something right no?
Or you just ignored em and did as you wish?

*shrugs*

*Group Hug!* :p
