Re: Hello, I am Random Opinionated Internet Person.
Sarcasm isn't funny when it has to be explained, which you're asking me to do. *sigh* Sarcastically, I was saying "thanks" as if I needed your permission to post something, whether it be something you wanted me to post or not. If I didn't want people posting pictures of Adolf Hitler plus other people with mustaches, that doesn't mean they're not going to if I say "hey don't do that." Even if I have some sort of reasonable cause, like having a mustache of my own and finding the whole thing a little offensive (note: I don't), it doesn't mean people won't post. In a nutshell, whether you want me to or not, I'm going to post. Whether I want you to or not, you're going to post. Whether random person A wants random person B to post or not, they're going to. Hence my *ahem* sarcastic thankfulness for your permission for something I didn't, and never will need. There, now look what we've gone and done. While I'll admit not very funny in the first place, there is no humor left after the explaination. Only strife.

Perhaps I should ask your permission before posting in other threads as well. I wouldn't want to violate your permission again. (Note the sarcasm of what I said, plus the sarcastic rolling eyes smiley at the end in case the sarcasm was missed) (Note the sarcasm of my paranthetical statement before this one. Yes, I am throwing it around like a cheap hooker). And because I know you love it so much, it's tempting to point out what might happen to this thread if this latest derailment continues. However, I've already apologized and said I wouldn't do it again as to not bother those who expressed annoyance over it. So are we done yet, or do we keep going?

You know this type of thing happens in conversations a lot... we start talking about some topic, and in 15 minutes the topic is so vastly different that it seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the first topic.

One day, try going back through the topics, it becomes very... interesting.

And I'm sorry for using the word topic so many times  :D

I actually enjoy the freeform style of discussion in here, it means that even if you know nothing about the original topic, it's only a matter of time until you get a chance to post :D

You're still missing my point. I was saying that you rationalizing why you're predicting the thread being locked doesn't change the fact that it's annoying. You, instead of responding the crux of what I was saying, directed your sarcasm at a statement that I inserted purely for emphasis. I'm more than capable of grasping the ironic contrast between my statement and your sarcastic response. But the fact that you picked that sentence to respond to makes no sense to me.

Also, anyone who says this debate is absurd supports terrorism.

And I hadn't known until you said so, so very nicely I might add!  :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) I apologized and said I wouldn't do it again. Not enough? Okay, I'm lying on the ground, step on me, drive over me with your car, show me how wrong I was, tell me I've been a bad boy.

Pretty much what I did, if Pat Robertson is an accurate source.

Ulala, twenty Hail Marys ought to be sufficient to purge the sin of your insult to the infalibility of my judgement.

(Which, ironically, brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to the whole reason this thread was created.)

Hail who? "Mary"? Who's th- OHHH! You mean Miriam, the Jewish teenager in the gospels? ;)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

If she was Jewish how come she wasn't rich enough to get a decent place to give birth?

(Wow, that was borderline, even for me...)
