Deepblue, would you please care to calm down. You're not posting anything useful with those "live feed quotes", just post a link to the feed and be done with it. I know you enthusiastic about E3 and there's nothing wrong about that, but calm down already and be more rational. This goes for rest of you as well.

Sorry, I did the same thing for the other conferences, but they didn't have so much!

GTA4 is a huge coup for MS (I'm guessing limited period exclusivity, which had been rumoured but is still a surprise).  Skimming through the rest, nothing too surprising (I think all the titles were more or less certs to be announced), although I had semi-expected Alan Wake to be a 360 exclusive rather than Pc+360; I wonder how many games will go the same way?  From the sounds of it MS have had the best of the pre-E3 conferences in terms of actual game content, though.  Of course, how much each game appeals to you is a subjective thing I guess; I'm kind of blase about gaming at the moment - believe it or not, the most exciting thing out justnow for me is Animal Crossing.

Yes, I know.  Pathetic, isn't it?

:D

EDIt;
This is reportedly the first shot of Wii controller 'shell'; http://www.wiigamer.com/?p=504

Not sure about it, myself - assuming it's real of course - seems like how comfortable and hence good it is will be determined by the underside, namely how easy it is to hold.  Like anyone would have a Wii (hoho!) for standard controller-type games, of course....

:(

Because that is the reason, isn't it?

Aldo, that controller (if it's real anyway) is probably for publishers like EA that put out games on all three systems, to have a kind of 'standard' control scheme for the games.

Well yeah, but don't forget it is also a SNES/N64/GC emulator, and the remote is only really useful as a NES controller.

Sony's conference was mostly talk talk talk and a ton of time on a couple games. Then a trailer reel. And finally, a poor attempt at stealing Nintendo's thunder.

Nintendo's conference was pretty good from what I saw, however, I neglected adding to this one because I lost the video feed.

MS's conference had a crapload of stuff from the very beginning.

1. Gears of War trailer, demo of first, gory, level.

2. A bunch of new Live Arcade titles.

3. New hardware (wireless headset, camera, wireless wheel with force feedback).

4. Fable 2.

5. Forza 2.

6. Alan Wake previously slated for both X360 and PS3 picked off by MS.

7. Blue Dragon/Lost Odyssey.

8. GTIV.

9. HD-DVD drive.

10. Live Anywhere (this is REALLY big).

11. Crysis.

12. XBL marketplace flood of demos and trailers.

13. And then ending the conference with Halo 3. This had the loudest response from the audience of anything at any conference.

MS definitely had the most to show, and I think they won the preconference battle because of PS3's poor show and Nintendo's lack of a price and specific date.

I thought it was becuase of them having their console out over 1/2 a year allready, but silly me. :p

Anyways, this is alot of games.

GTA4 confirmed to release simultaneously on X360 and PS3 by...er... MS

http://eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=64487 (lots of Wii popping up there now; you'll see the same for X360 later I'd imagine, they evidendly have to whittle through PR guff handled at the presentations for each format)

I'm confused, now...

I was going to make an ironic comment about the PS-series history of ripping off Nintendo pads (right back to the PS1 SNES-with-2-more buttons), but I can't be arsed wading through a thread of continuous Deepblue slagging posts.  I think when you start posting pics that effectively imply Spny/PS3 fans should commit suicide, then you are being a bit of an arse.  And it's too early in my morning for that.
That'd be because the PS1 was initially meant to be an SNES add-on.
You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?" -George Bernard Shaw

In all honesty, after watching all three press briefs, I think that Nintendo had the best one. Why? Because we have seen all the crap on the PS3 and 360 dozens and dozens and dozens of times before. Yes, MGS4, Halo 3, GT4, Gears of War, Mass Effect, FF13, and all the dozens of other games by them look nice, good for them. I, for one, am getting kinda tired about the best pixels per inch, and soft shadows and all that other technobabble **** that Sony and MS are spewing. After all, good graphics do not make a good game.

But Nintendo had something those didn't... I don't quite know what, maybe it was heart, maybe it was balls, maybe it was insanity. I don't know, but the Wii looks to truly be next gen. Not only in terms of control, but terms of art. Now, art and graphics are two different things. The graphics, while they look nice, look stale and plastic. What Nintendo can do here with the Wii, since the technology there isn't too far off from the current gen, is push the art of the games further than ever before. I have watched the thrity-odd second Mario Galaxy playdemo over and over and over now, because I still can't get over the art direction there. It looks friggin great!

I'am impressed, that was the SNES CD, however Nintendo break with Sony because the contract said that Nintendo would have to give Sony 25% of the profits they make from it, furious Nintendo break with Sony and go with Philips to search for a CD support, resulting in the Philips CDi, and Sony developement for making his own platform, of course Nintendo do a pathetic legal attemp to stop the PlayStation...but they were too late, they should have accepted that contract...(that was the worst mistake in Nintendo's history, though it is know by a few users...)

The Wii looks ridiculously fun. I'm quite excited to try it myself someday. :) The graphics could look a little better IMHO, but maybe it's just the poor quality of the video I watched? *shrugs* Either way, it looks amazingly entertaining!

It's definitely not the quality of the vid you watched. While some titles looked outstanding (Mario, Disaster), others looked like Xbox quality (Red Steel, MP:C ( :( )), and yet others looked, I kid you not, worse than N64 (TONY HAWK: DOWNHILL JAM, I'M LOOKING AT YOU).

If you care about graphics, to be honest, then it's not the console for you anyways.  I'm glad someone put fun as a desired characteristic for their console, rather than spec-mapped, normal-mapped, 2000 poly giant crotchguards or realistic facial pockhole lighting.

NB: Fable 2 and Forza 2 were pre-rendered according to C4 (Digitiser).

Pathetic.

Y'know the bias accusation?  It can cut both ways.

Even the basic sports games or music games that use the Wii-mote look fun, let alone Red Steel, Zelda, Mario, or Metroid.. I'm so stoaked, I can't wait to get my hands on this!

What I think is funny, is if you watch the conference, they admit they still have alot behind closed doors, I wonder what they will pull today.

What will they pull for Wii, indeed.
