I totally agree with you! In a mostly serious forum like this, the types of smileys you suggest still have some use.

There are some (about 5 or so) that would be fine, like the wry smile, etc.  Ones that convey emotions that are not in the basic set.  

That being said, we don't really need the Redeemer, the penguin, spam or other similar types.

Right, that's two posts in two days. This is stupid now, if I see ANYONE else reviving 5-6 year old threads because they think it is 'funny', I'll be requesting temporary bans, I don't know if I'll get them, but I'm not in the mood for this crap.
