hehe, whoops; you seem to have done the same thing, although yours looks much nicer.

But...but...you don't have the Imhotep! Or the Murakami! j/k   (multiplayer ships)

Sounds great; I'll send it along as soon as this @Home e-mail thing gets fixed... :P

Delacroix is an Hecate. As to being destroyed by the Ravana, maybe it jump in at the wrong location: in front of the main guns? That would be amusing.

LOL, many of those "Admirals" were sort of stupid here; if they had just jumped in behind their targets, they would have had a much greater chance of survival... :P

BTW I just took a look at the rest of your website sandwich (or was that sandvich? ); really nice site there. I completely agree with your rants BTW; never thought there would be someone with the same opinions on some of those issues. Games should go indeed go into a \games\ subdirectory, not a folder containing the company name, and Program Files should be deleted and the name banned forever. The "My this, my that" things sounds really idiotic, and most of the "easy access" buttons on the keyboard are pointless. (the only buttons I find somewhat useful are the volume control buttons)

Some other things I hate are the strange directory structure present in Windows Explorer where everything is on the "Desktop" and all of the drives are located within "My Computer" (the actual folder structure has the Desktop in C:\windows\desktop and "My Computer" does not exist :P ), and the way that almost every application installer drops a folder in the Start->Programs menu. (under the company name, of course)

terran capships can only jump via jumpnodes, so they didn't really have the choice

Capships don`t need a jump node to make in system jumps and IIRC the Ravana was nowhere near a jump node anyway.

I said TERRAN capships, and vsudans too. I know shivans caps won't need nodes.
The sathanas that fried the collosus proved it the best possible way. But GTVA ships needs node. Why do you think there's all those annoying escort missions from an arcadia to a node?

Venom, Karajorma is right. For in-system jumps, a capital ship (Terran, Vasudan OR Shivan) does NOT need a node. For jumps from one star system to another, EVERYONE needs a jump node.

Well, I don't remember any capship making a jump anywhere away from a node.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Yea it just makes sense to call it a Hecate, but to be killed by a Ravana that badly, youd think it would be an Orion.

Too bad it was destroyed

In the briefing it says in like the past few hours our attack on the Ravana has slown down. We have lost the GTD Delecrox (eh spelling)

Yeah that was my reasoning behind it as well. Although I guess if you think about it, the Orion is considerably better against other capital ships with its three BGreens as opposed to the Hecate's one. Those Terran engineers are real wackos...

Techinical Superority.

Well...

They did improve some things, Orion has one engine, Hecate has five, making it harder to disable a Hecate. On that topic, the Orion doesn't have any turrets to defend its engines, a corvette could just get right there and pound it to hell.

The Hecate has flak and beams to guard it's engines. Hecate has more armor, the ultra-dense stuff they used on the Deimos. The Orion looks like paper for some reason.

And yea the Default Hecate only has 1 BFGreen, but it is a new ship, plus maybe in the future they add more to it because of a new core.

Yeah the Hecate is a far superior ship against enemy fighters, but overall I think it falls quite short of its Vasudan counterpart, the Hatshepsut. The armor is actually the same as the Orion since both have 100000 hitpoints in ships.tbl; it seems that both of the Vasudan destroyers have better armor than either Terran one. I also really think that the two TerSash beams in the middle section of the ship (located on a small outcropping in the bottom) should be replaced with BGreens (did this in my campaign); it makes the destroyer a far more capable ship. The flak cannons on the top also shoot somewhat weak projectiles for their huge size, so I replaced those with a custom weapon.

Maybe putting on all these extra engines (engine-exhausts really) put such a large strain on the reactors that it was impossible to put heavier weaponry on the Hecate-A class Destroyer?

Somebody really should design a type B Hecate once. Maybe with two BFGreens in front. Just like there is need of a type B Deimos Corvette, one with a hangar.

Nice work on the lists...

Thats what I was insisting on about getting a new core upgrade so it can have heavier weapons.

It's always so much fun trying to explain goof-ups or apparant mistakes made by either Volition or the GTVA using FS-universe consistent reasons.

Personally I'm rather proud of my explanation why there used to be 3 Jump nodes leading of Earth in FS1 and only 1 node [an unstable one at that] in FS2. If you want to know it you'll have to search for it   It's somewhere around here.
