Is it just me or was saturdays episode a pile of ploppy plops?

It was pretty awful, the first 20 minutes were total crap.

I don't like it anymore.. I had high hopes, but I think it was better back when I was a child when a.) it took itself more seriously and b.) I was a child and thought it was better than it really was

The first half was poorly done, but I thought it picked up after he hooked up with Jackie.

Lots of good little jokes in it too. Like the Absorbalof saying 'avante' and the whole 'love life' thing.

And I loved the bit where Rose comes marching out of the Tardis, pissed off at Elton.

The episode had its ups and downs, but I'm having trouble with the direction of the series. I know Rose has seen a fair bit now but she seems far too cocky about every situation... as does the Doctor. Previous Doctors had an air of aged authority about them, this one just seems big for his boots. There's far too much "swan in, apraise the bad guy, correct the situation and swan out" type stuff.

Yeah.

But to be fair, Eccleston is a massively better actor than Tennant. If it was Eccleston doing it, it'd probably be better.

And the production values seem to have dropped some. I think they hit the first series with ****loads of cash to get people into it, then pulled back for the second series. The only episode this series that's matched the production values of the first is New Earth.

It's also far less dark.

And Tennant over-acts t3h angreh.

Though I suppose they could be saving the money and horror for the last few episodes. They're supposed to be bringing back those Gelp things from the Victorian episode, and I bet they're fairly pricey to do. And The Beast can't have come cheap.

I think they come back in the finale.

I've heard loads of random **** about the finale. Something about time portals and fractures in space/time and Daleks-vs-Cybermen and the Gelth recorporealising.

But I'm not sure how much of that is people mis-reading minor spoilers relating to other episodes.

I think the Gelth thing is a rumour that's come from the title, Army of Ghosts.

No, RTD said the Gelth would return in Season 2. And that Captain Jack would use the Rift to get back to the present day so he could star in Torchwood.

My guess is that Jack uses the surfboard thing to fuz with the Rift, gets dumped out in present day Cardiff, accidentally opens the door for the Gelth and they start royally ****ing with the timeline, bringing back the Daleks and Cybermen and generally throwing the universe into chaos.

Okay, now I'm really confused.

The cast listing shows Mickey (Noel Clarke) in Army Of Ghosts. Which would make sense if he were A) Dead, B) In this universe. But he's not. So **** knows what's going on.

The more I read, the less sense this is making.

Apparently the Gelth attack Earth, then the Cybermen (**** knows which Cybermen) pop up and side with the Gelth (**** knows why). Then the Daleks attack Earth (which Daleks and why they're attacking Earth and the Gelth are complete unknowns). Time and space are fracturing. Jack comes back. Rose 'dies'. Some people are talking about The Master being behind it all, others are saying it's the Time Lords trying to bring themselves back, like the Gelth tried to do. Mickey's somehow mixed up in all of this. There are dead people walking the Earth, possibly as part of the Gelth attack.

This is either going to be the best episode ever, or so ****ing complicated I'll need to rewatch it fifteen times just figure out what the **** is going on.

Definitely the worst Doc Hoo eva. What the hell were they thinking? Well actually I know what they were thinking. Hey let's do an episode without the two leads, give them more or less a week off work, and do something arty. Unfortunately it was so far from working that it wasn't even funny. Also, like others it seems, I am starting to turn on David Tennant. I see either a regeneration or a cancellation on the cards. Although I dread to think who they'll pick next time. jimmy Carr? Johnny Vegas?
