I'm not sure, either, but maybe a wee bit under that (£200).   Nice starting point though, cheers.

 It's mostly for taking on odd excursions out or to gigs, so size is more important than top photographic quality (yeah, I could use a cameraphone, but to do so i'd need to buy one, and a decent one is really more expensive than a camera, and I never use my mobile as is, so.....well, go figure )

If it's gigs you're thinking about then I'd go into a shop and ask them about how well (the camera you're looking at) handles in low light photography.

For instance, my dad has a Fuji something something and its "camera shake warning" lights up in bright daylight. In darkness it's unusable despite having a flash on it. Point being that you need a camera that is able to focus in low lighting conditions and preferably comes with some sort of anti-hand-shake compensation.

Yeah you might want to find one that has decent Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS).

Its an excellent camera. The only problem I've had is that it... erh broke on me. I think it may have been factory defect or something however and its under warranty so I expect a replacement shortly.

But yeah, the picture quality is great, its a tiny camera - fits right in me pocket, has a big lcd screen on the back (no eyepiece) which is good for the hold up and point types etc.
And it handles low light situations pretty well.

It has OIS too, which is a big plus for me, I'm always shivering see.

Ed: Oh, I do believe that there are newer variant's of the series that have better features etc for a similar price, so you may want to check that out.

Actually, i'm thinking of it specifically for a gig that's on at about 6pm and is outside

So it'll probably need to be waterproof........

Good point on the hand-shakery, though.  That gives me major problems with my dads camera.
