Well... the idea with Predator, herc Mk III was to get away from the vertically designed semi streamlined brick.
Since in space aerodynimic count for didly... squat, the idea of a vertcally axis fighter is irrelevant as much as the horizontally axis one. What remains is the benefit of a vertically designed fighter.
And I still can't see any, either than a funny looking goose.

Pity, because the Herc MK II must be the most popular ship in FS2. I would have prefered something so completely different... or a great streamlined areodynimic design.
I tried as much as possible to stay in the FS2 theme, still graceing the original design a little and "Predator" came to be.

It's not major work, I did it for fun and rather quickly. The F-440 is a different story. I spent a fair bit more time on that one.
That would have to be a Mk IV,
