Consider yourself lucky. I live with 5 other x-box/playstation/nintendo-hating fanboys.

I'll buy the Wii if it has some compelling games. I'm tired of Super Mario Adventure 15.

I can't imagine FSers liking console games all that much.  When you get used to a game that has multiple functions for almost every single button on the keyboard it's kinda hard to appreciate consoles.

Re: PS3 not in production yet
Forza was quite good but it suffered from lazy AI. From your perspective they're either annoying robots who follow the racing line in a completely unrealisic fashion even if it means shunting you off at 200mph or; it's you against one car and 7 of his best, psychopath mates.

I play Colin McRae rally instead now.
I do notice some of that behavior.  They aren't fantastic AI...they are a bit annoying sometimes but I find them to be a good challenge too. I haven't played many other racing games but I really wanted one and everyone said that on XBox Forza was best. The customizable cars and settings tuneups were great.

Re: PS3 not in production yet
I've been very happy with my PS2, but I must say the price for the next system is outrageous.  I'm actually considering the 360.  I'll wait regarding the Wii.  Nintendo has some great classics, but my Gamecube only has a couple titles.  The Wii needs some solid first-party games (none of these ****ty sports spin-offs.  Golf?  Soccer?  Tennis?  Bleh.) and even more solid third-party support.

Have you ever played any of the Mario sport games? They're great fun.

Considering Metroid Prime 3 and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess are both launch titles, those are some pretty ****ing strong games right there! Then, just a few months later Super Smash Brawl will be coming out, not to mention all the funky third-party games that'll be coming out in the interim, such as Red Steel.

To be honest, I'd buy a gamecube right now simply on the strength of 1st party titles, so I'm not concerned about any potential lack of 3rd party titles on the Wii.  I'd especially love to play Mario Footie, or whatever it was called.

Surely I'm not the only person finding the very concept of the Wii tremendously exciting, though?

I do as well, but often don't talk about it to avoid long debates with my friends.  ;) :p
Im looking foward to it.

More than PS3 anyways...
Well what do I do now?  Well Jack, you seem to have an act for blowing things up....
