Can't say I've ever done that in FS but I did do that once in Janes WWII Fighters.  Did a strafing run on a convoy and the last truck in the line took my tail off as I was pulling out   Oops!

I did something close to that in Falcon 4.0..
Objective was to bomb a runway. The flak guns were pissing me off, so I took her in low, thought I could drop the bombs then kick my burners and go straight up...
My instruments were shot as well, so I was 200 feet lower than I thought I was...
the blast tore off the whole left side of the plane

Ah, the good old days of Falcon 4...before Combatsim went subscriber and my HOTAS setup kicked it...

I remember once watching a damaged wingman attempt to land... I thought he was coming in on a different runway, but instead, about 5 seconds from the threshold, he buzzed right by me with a 20' seperation, pouring smoke and jerking all over the sky... but alas, he took a sudden dive and exploded right in front of the runway. Talk about your dramatic moments...

 Great animation!! btw that raises an interesing question.  Can fighters, when equipped with jump drives make miscalculations and end up in asteroid fields and other stuff like Han solo said in his famed Starwars movie

oh and Dr.Zero, it's one of those asteroids that seem to be everywhere and allways in the way  

let's try to make this into a serious discussion... or not... what do you think, somehow it seems that the most fun animations seem to be the ones where something "bad" happens to someone. This thought just came into my mind today after watching my animations again.

edit: Red5... I'm not sure, because aren't the calculations in FS made in Battleships or... by COMMAND
