With the SD Demon...re-arm as soon as the Sathanas is jumping out (not even fully jumped out yet).  Then fire your bank of Trebuchet missiles at the two beam cannons from long range.  Both beams will be down and the Sobek can savage the Demon till you get there and can lob a few Helios at it.

Its take too much time to destroy an long range beam of the Demon, simply do a fast bombering run, launch a single Helios to the beam currenly shooting at the Sobek, them arm 2 Helios and go for its engines, finally use the remaing Helio to destroy the Beam on the other side, and Trebuchets to destroy the upper beam and anti-fighters beams... them just kill all fighters and order all bombers to destroy the Demon

Four Beams > Flak Cannons > Trebs to the side beam > Trebs to the top beam > Helios to the Engines > Get the **** out.

Colossus aien't THAT bad... it's just horrible...

 

Anyways, if you get all the VPs but Cell, then OEM is quite basically a small install of FS2 Retail + OEM.

Anyways, how can I revert to the lowres sonic-boom/blue mushroom thing when a ship explodes?

Download the lowres mushroom and plant it in your data/effects. Propably. I think. IRCC.

its just that effect thats laggin up the system...

cause... blowing up freighters gives about 1/3 the lag as a cruiser... i dont even wanna see how laggy a destroyer blowin up will be.

I bought this 'ere game back in 2000, an' I've played th' main campaign a couple times.  After several years, I've come back t' FS2, an' I'm playin' th' main campaign again, ye scurvey dog.  Back in th' day, I were bein' ne'er able t' destroy all four beam cannons on th' Sathanas in Bearbaitin'.  The best I were bein' e'er able t' do were bein' 3.

Today, first try at this 'ere mission, an' I DID IT!!, ye scurvey dog!  Even with a bulky bandage on me index finger an' I were bein' havin' t' use me middle finger as th' trigger finger on me joystick, by Davy Jones's locker.  But then, I couldn't destroy th' Demon an' I lost th' Vasudan corvette. 

Exact same thing happened to me actually - I did wonder if the mission or the ships / weapons had been tweaked to make it a little easier   It doesn't really make much difference if you don't manage it though as the next mission gives you another chance  8)

Yeah I just make a video of this mission (Bearbaiting) , played on Medium, perfect outcome except for the loses and Thebes at 10%      I will upload then as soon Filefront finish the maintenance..

Depends in what you mean which "bonus beams"? if you are taling about the beams in the Beleth yes, but Bonus beam in the Sathanas? I never know about their existence

Rear? xD that imposible... well you can if forget about the flaks... and depends if the AI can take it

If the wingmen can do it then can be done, I will check in a fake mission first if 3 or 4 of those bombers which the config given in that mission can take it out on medium , its hard because the AI dont use bombs on turrets :SSS, and the structure bug which the foward flaks on the Sathanas are not helping , too many negative impacts on the turrets which the Trebuchets...

Yeah I did it on Medium (but I just finding a way, I dint make a video, I will make one ASAP)... its Easy, Alpha wing can take out the rear turret , just I need to destroy one Flak and the four turrets.. but you still need luckwhich the main turrets, you dnt have time to waste in negative hits :S
