A) The admins here are probably too busy to moderate your forum for you. Do it yourself. The admins are not your personal assistants.
B) This forum is not a place to sell your products.
C) 99.9% of the people here are busy on their own projects. You're probably the luckiest person in the world if you can grab a talented person to do anything, and you're probably the second luckiest person if you can find anyone who can do anything period. You need to bring something to the table yourself.
D) The Freespace portion of this should go into the General Freespace or Freespace modding sections (probably Freespace modding).

I'm selling computer parts on my site only not here. Just loooking for some help though.

Well then, ask someone who isn't DOING anything.

Don't ask a mod leader. Don't ask a coder.

And for godsakes, don't ask someone who's BOTH!

anyways, no one's allowed to steal Goober5000. He needs to spend as much time as possible on DEM2!

why would an SCP error be considered as news? :wtf: *smacks Cobra*It's a feature.

Turey & Unknown Target would you like to be moderators? To the hard-light forums and everything else. Please inform me if you want to be a moderator for the sites. Thank you. :)

Modelers needed for projects

I'm a good modeler, and I might be willing to do some stuff for you once i get a bit farther along with my Stand at Ross 128 mod, but right now all my energy is in that project.

No offense, but both of those websites could show a lot of improvement. Obviously tiled backdrounds, overuse of javascript, almost a complete lack of structure...I would suggest working more on both site designs before you start trying to recruit people. Anyone with the kind of experience you're looking for will avoid those sites like the plague.

I can't even navigate past the first page on either site, because I have javascript disabled for sites by default. All you need to do to fix that is use regular hyperlinks instead of an unneccessary javascript.

;7thank you for the value information fixing the problems now. re-design the website, but how do you put in the "users online" information in? can anyone help me with this problem.  also can anyone help me do the hyperlinks. thanks again ec

A.) Where exactly would we get said hardware? Me and other people here are not bottomless pools of money, we have budgets. Especially for me, because there is a pretty steep import tax on foreign brand computer parts.

B.) I'm not doing it for free. I work full time teaching in Nanjing, as well as trying to learn written and spoken chinese (to prepare for the HSK) and also I need to spend time chasing a girl I like. My time is quite limited.

EDIT: And for the record, chasing girls is much more interesting than admining a forum :P

Re: Invitition to sssgraphics & Firespace: War & Peace
The two eagleclaw's topics have been merged into one.

eagleclaw, I am sorry to say this bluntly but you need to get your feet back on ground and stop daydreaming if you really want these projects of yours to succeed.

1. Do you have all the necessary skills to create a quality site? If not, do you know a few buddies you can trust and who have the skills you lack? If not, forget it.
2. Do you have the basic idea what makes your site different from the countless of others out there? What do you use to get people interested in your site?
3. You need to have everything finished before starting to recruit people. Unfinished or bad quality will not help your cause.

You have but miniscule chance of recruiting some staff if you don't have the three basic things backing you up. Again, sorry to say this bluntly but what you showed us was no better than what a generic 12-year old l33t-wannabe -type would have shown. Your sites don't have any credibility.

If you really put some effort into this and plan things through, you just might someday get something done that could potentially compete against other similar sites out there. But that day is not today I'm afraid.

Re: Invitition to sssgraphics & Firespace: War & Peace
I recently looked at the sssgraphics forum, and to be honest it looks a lot like the HardOCP forums. Also something you really need to understand is that the reviews for tom's hardware guide, hardocp and all these other tech sites don't work for free, and their equipment isn't free either.

Testing platforms aren't, but the hardware they are testing often are. But they need to send the hardware back to manufacturer after tests.

Re: Invitition to sssgraphics & Firespace: War & Peace
Still though, these projects need to have something to offer, something that sets them apart from other things like HardOCP, but I am just not seeing it at the moment. Without something that really makes it worth my time to participate, I'll just stick to chasing chinese girls. :p

If you guys do have suggusts thats okay but don't expected me to site back and you guys and gales will critise it.
