LOL I actually thought the purchase of my computer was quite a deal. $2500 for the following: 1400MHz Athlon TB, 512MB DDR RAM (266MHz), ASUS A7M266 motherboard (AMD-761), 75GB IBM 7200rpm ATA/100 HDD, 52X CD drive (Samsung), 16/10/40X CD-RW unit (Plextor), GF3 video card (which happens to overclock well too), SBLive X-Gamer soundcard, cooling: "Arctic Silver" thermal grease and ten fans (two Deltas), Koss R-200 headphones (got these instead of speakers), NEC/Mitsubishi Multisync 950+ monitor (21", 1920x1440), MS Intellimouse Explorer + standard MS keyboard, 3Com/USR hardware modem and ethernet card, and of course the good old 3.5" floppy drive.

All of the components were retail rather than OEM, so I recieved the accompanying software too. (the SBLive included 3 very good games

)
So he should indeed hate me, because I know where to find the good deals and he does not! j/k

(this one was from a small company called Hypersonic)
I have only had this machine for 4 months though and already it is somewhat outdated. Guess that's just life in the computer industry...
