It just amazed me that the leaders of the "eco friendly" party in Washington would dare do such things.

Re: Damn Good Reason Not To Listen To Hollywood
I can't say I'm especially bothered by what Hollywood "celebs" do.

They're overpaid normal people. I daresay that the majority of people who fly private jets are not celebrities but these folk are picked on because hey - everyone loves a story. It's Daily Mail fuel.

While I'm not trying to defend the celebrities here, it's also worth noting that if they started getting on regular airliners to get from A to B there would be a media circus and a vast amount of disruption for everyone else involved. I'd prefer they stayed out of my way if all I'm trying to do is get from one country to another by plane.

Tom Cruise isn't normal, maybe normal compared to the other people who ride with him on the short bus.  :p

Well they can fly first class. Also, if their are problems with celebs going out in public and being mobbed by the media, then something should be done about the media. Still doesn't look quite right for them to suggest and say how others should live, particularly Clooney, and then use private jets for unnecessary travel.

So this article is ragging on celebreties because they have to fly on a private plane because of their job, whose fuel consumption they have no control over?

Right...

Right...

Have to?  There are such things as commercial airlines for a reason, y'know.  Celebs shouldn't have to take private jets just because they want to avoid crowds or "because their schedule demands it."  Surely they can find some flight at some airport to fit their schedule just fine.

The problem doesn't lie in their use of private airliners, but maybe safty and privacy. But yeah, I still think that if they were THIS concerned about it they would try and find a way to use commercial airlines and still avoid the press.

doenst current airport policy forbid non travelers from passing the metal detectors? it did last time i was at one. once the celebrity passes the detectors theyre pretty much free from everyone except the traveling public.

It's easy to say "just take a commercial airline," but think about it - J-Lo or George Clooney getting on an airplane? Yea, the entire place would go ape**** bananas if he was recognized.

First Class, mebbe?  Keep them away from the ape****ting tourists and passengers?  Put bags over their heads?

I like the first and third options myself...
