Ancients render series 1-3 (out of 6)

In reading the FS Reference Bible, specifically the texts of the ancient cutscenes from FS1, I realized that they'd make for some pretty cool renders. So here's 1 to 3, and I'll try to do 4-6 after I get back from my trip to the US (December 7th).

EDIT: Thanks go to Setekh for pointing out his source for fonts, and to Ace for pointing out a little detail I had forgotten...

I think the only time I didn't use those plug-ins was before I discovered them.

I loved them when I saw them before, still do.  

The use of fonts is great - you used them better than I would have! Your planets are wonderful - I especially like the one in Expansion, it has a real nice balance of hues on its surface   And good work putting in the extra planet and moon in the background, the scale is good.  

Sin scares me. Like I said, there is nothing that will prepare you for opening up an image for the first time and see a huge Shivan staring you in the face. And the stars just make him seem more evil.   We've got fifteen minutes to change our shorts...  

And Vanquished is great. This is how the cutscene should have looked. Hand me those sunnies, would ya SNADwich?  

Btw... why have't we got an art gallery for you yet?

Hmmmm, I don't know.  Those Shivans are starting to seem like they existed for the sole purpose of whiping out the Ancients  

Anyway, the renders are some of the best I've ever seen.  I like the Vanquished one.  That sun just looks dumfoundly jaw-dropping.  

What are 4-6 going to look like?

Err... I mean:
Love the fonts (I love fonts though... were'd you get that "Sliders" (aka: Expansion) font?).
Love the progression of images (expanding via subspace, encounter with Shivans, homeworld), matches the theme of the text beautifully.

The fonts are all from www.acidfonts.com  - great site. As for the progression, I must say that I cheated a bit: If you view the FS1 cutscenes, you'll see that mine are taken pretty much directly from there. So you can guess from the rest of the cutscenes what the rest of the renders will be like... sort of.
