my old starwars movie (rendered)
Five years ago, I was doing 3D with the first release of 3D Studio MAX in school. I made this movie for my final, using models and plugins from 3DCafe. This is a cut-down version (resolution wise), and you can see even in this short movie, that I learned a lot about the framing and timing of things as I went along. There's a couple glaring errors (plus numerous little things, but not ERRORS, if you know what I mean), if you're watching for them - see if you can catch all three... To watch it, you'll need quicktime, and to click here. (3.7 mb)

lol - ok, so it was goofy to mention quicktime.

Anyway, let me know if it was at all pleasurable. Personally, I'll say that was only true of two shots out of six. (the one where the Falcon is evading the TIE fire, and where the TIE clips the asteroid.

Ok - maybe it wasn't so goofy to mention Quicktime. What I should have mentioned is that you need Quicktime 5 - this was compressed with the Sorenson 3 codec, available with QT5 and up....

On that note - which divX or mp4 compressor do you guys recommend? I have a high-spec machine, so speed isn't really that much of an issue.

Fortunately I fill all those criteria, and the movie looks very impressive - theres a real sense of speed through that asteroid field, nice job

I accidentally uploaded a version that is too fast - 30 instead of 24 FPS. Oh well - I'll try and upload a corrected version later, but you get the idea.

Thanks for the comments so far, guys!
