I was going to try setting up the FS1 music but am pretty short on time myself these days. The Port's tbm file seems to use additional entries that were added by the SCP, which I'm not that familiar with. The FS2 tbm (used in the 3.6.10 music media VP) was fairly straightforward to make though, at least after I figured out how the parameters work.

Also, I still have not heard from Dan Wentz on other material.  Basically, what CP5670 has posted, that's all we have.  That's all that Dan found and sent to me, at least.  I assume that all of his energy and time is devoted to the current Volition project (still don't know what it is...) and family, and rightfully so.  Yes, there's some tracks that are missing, notibly the M8 tracks.

Do you want to try contacting him again? I believe it's been several months and he may have just forgotten about it. We're missing most of the files from tracks 7 to 10, and also some pieces in FS2 like tracks B and C (these would actually be more useful in my opinion, since most existing campaigns use the FS2 tracks).

But CP used a Darkside ambient in PI...it should be in the package mentioned above!

That one is just a pitch-shifted version of the original. I thought that made it blend in better with the other music pieces used in that mission, and it also had the side effect of increasing the sampling rate and resulting in better quality.

Hey there. Glad to see you're still around too. It's been a heck of a time getting things done.

I agree with you on how simple and straightforward inserting music into FS2's TBM is. I've had no problems with editing that part of the music stuff. But there's something I cant get my head around when it comes to the FSPORT. perhaps I could give another crack at it with a later build.

I am going to write Dan tomorrow  and see whats up for sure. He has always said to have faith. I just need to get back in the loop with this project.

It will give me something good to do when my girlfriend wants to watch Dancing with the stars or American Idol. =)

By the way, I'll get around to posting the rest of the extras in another pack, as that just includes the ingame mission music. The best extra is posted already, the outtake reel, but in the spirit of completeness, it might be of interest to someone.

fsport is a bit different in that it has like ... 2 normal tracks.  PM Goob and see if he can shed some light on this.  Goob fixed up the FSPort music that is currently working, whereas before it wasn't at all.  (Well, it was, but not right.  )

I'm not sure if we'll ever find a high-quality M10 - that's been one of the most sought-after tracks, and I've asked Dan a few times and he's not been able to come up with anything yet.

Ah,  I see.  Those tracks were included with the package of tracks that Dan found when we were looking for the original master recordings of FS1 tracks.  They were unused, I believe.  I never heard them before either.  I posted them up in hopes they would be appreciated by everyone who likes Dan's music. 

Also might go to show you how far wanted to go  the promotion of the titles, whereas Interplay did very little promotion at all.

I see. I've always liked all of Dan Wentz's works for FreeSpace 2.

What is fs2betamainhall.flac? It seems that a slightly different version was used in The Procyon Insurgency.

fs2betamainhall was the track included in the FS2 beta for it's Mainhall screen.  It was used in Inf:A for it's mainhall as well, which was pretty cool. 

It's so neat to see and hear these tracks get utilized, rather than cast away.

We're appropriating it as the official Silent Threat:Reborn theme. Which makes sense given that it has the FS1 leitmotif in it.
