It's all in music.tbl and the file names are listed there, for crying out loud. Just change them.

That's what I originally thought, but looks like there's another problem...

Also, I kept hitting brick walls each and every time I tried to get the music to work in the FSPort, the one problem I always got was that the track would only play halfway, then immediately start over again.  I had set my timings right in the tables, and I still got the same problems.  No matter what I did, it would always do that.   The other problem I had, was that if I did get the music to work right, it would only work for the first mission.  Second mission, and each mission after that would be silent.  I removed any/all other refrences to music.  So..... with this quite hasty post, I am hereby turning this over to the community to work on, if they'd like.  I really wanted to release the pack as a single pack, complete and working, but I, for the life of me, cannot make it work right.  The original intention was to play the FSPort with this music, that you have before you right now.  Hopefully, someone else can make it work.  I'm not giving up on it though,  I WILL be of as much assistance as anyone needs, now that I've got a computer at my side again.  I could be available for testing as well, just don't know if FSO will run on a Geforce 8600M GT card.  Should...

Well, that applies to anything. The music pieces I just posted are no different from the others.

You don't need to deal with the music.tbl parameters if you want to use them in briefings or the mainhall, or as single-use pieces in specific missions.

What blowfish did find in The Procyon Insurgency, CP, is that you used the space for debriefing voice for debriefing music...

That trick gives you much better control over which music it uses. The standard debriefing music system is fairly primitive and is based only on objectives, frequently playing the wrong music for the situation. (like when it plays the victory music after the Colossus gets blown up in the main campaign )

It always does. I also note that sometimes, the music in Surrender, Belisarius! is messed up. You hear ambient music when the Belisarius jumps in, but the battle music doesn't fade in until the Belisarius has been destroyed.

Are these kinds of problems connected to 3.6.10? I was using a 3.6.10 INF build...

Also, I just checked that extras file and it looks like I forgot to include the FS2 cutscene ones in it, so I uploaded it again with those added in. I had those in a separate folder and I think most of them have already been available, but it would be good to have everything in one place anyway.

You actually forget that the Belisarius is a pretty weakened ship. It's not a full "threat". It's normal to hear ambient music when, for example, the only hostile ship on the battlefield is a disarmed/disabled one. It's normal...

That's not the point - I think he means that there's both tracks playing simultaneously. (which can't be good)

I thought he was refering to an updated file. When I DLed it for the first time it was supposed to be 64 mbs big. I ultimated the DL and found out that the file was corrupt. I DLed it again and this time the file was 111 mbs, this means that it must have been changed while I was DLing it.

I just wanted to post that the M8 battle tracks for FS1 are missing. It's the greatest battle music in the game, IMO.
