Re: Galactic Vasudan Installation?
About the Shivan Installation question...

isnt there some mod where you DO see a SI? im pretty sure its somewhere on Inferno, but i cant check right now (****ing residence hall network is down)

a hive or something...

Inferno has two installations: the Arachanas (Looks like a four-point star), and the Hera (Hive installation).
The Arachnas was also in Into the Depths of Hell.

In other words, the Welcome Beam Effect is spreading in the same manner as a virus. Well, then, the solution is simple. Quarantine you say? No, we'll just bombard their homeworld from orbit. I mean, "sterilize" it. Yes, that's what I meant.
Actually, let me look through our handbook....ah here it is...

"Behold, the purity of the Welcome Beam will be tarnished by those considered to be impure. In time, The One will bring balance back to the Welcome Beam. He will eat all his transgressors and gain their knowledge. And in so doing, he will become immortal, and live a life in small air ducts above the boards."

The GTVA sure knows how to launch feint attacks. You have the Colossus with her engines shut off, her battle group (all three ships) who apparently had problems with their weapon reactors, and a motley crew of fighters. No wonder the Bastion's escorts got decimated.

Ok, for real now, the Carl references are lost on 90% of you. It really is time to let it die.

Speaking of noobs... did HLP just get linked to from someplace big or something? There's like 150 guests on the forum at the moment.

[Edit] Make that 250+, even.

looking though his old posts, I can't even figure out how everyone associated him with shivans....

It was because at one point he claimed to have filled out an online application for something as Carl T Shivan, and has since recieved mail for that name at his home. IIRC.

Re: Galactic Vasudan Installation?
Want another example of something that dates back to the beginnings of HLP, and that we probably shouldn't do anymore?

GOING OFF-TOPIC!

Back on topic.....  ::)

I haven't seen anyone mention the other GVI on Hades, the GVI Cheops, which I personally like.

Though why the .rar it's in is called GVICheaps.rar, I'll not take a guess at.

why would an SCP error be considered as news? :wtf: *smacks Cobra*It's a feature.

Re: Galactic Vasudan Installation?
The reason no one mentioned it is probably because it isn't a big, full-size installation like the Arcadia. More like a lonely little science station.
Don't get me wrong, I like the Cheops as well.

There was one Vasudan installation (forgot the name), that was just an Arcadia with Typhon textures.  :ick:
If you don't like the Karnak or the Cairo, that might be your best bet though!

Comments like that... Hmm, why is Taristin bitter?

IIRC, I was the one who took Dark's station, remapped it, fixed the PATHing, and released it as the Cheops. But that was about 5 years ago if it was a minute. Id forgotten about that abomination (though I did like how it looked).

Re: Galactic Vasudan Installation?
I use the Cairo in my missions (the original one with the flower light things). It looks very good to me and goes well with the other Vasudan stuff.

The original reference was in TAS. Actually, to this day I still don't know whether he got his name from that thread or his real name is actually Carl. :p

I also think the Cheops somehow looks small but it's actually almost as big as the Arcadia.

As for the other one, it was the GVI Abydos. Nobody knew how to make models in those days except for Dark (this was before PCS, Modelview, FSMM and all that stuff), who was rarely around, so retextured stuff was the norm. :p
