I spent about 30 minutes last night going over some of my stuff and thought id make a couple of backgrounds for your perusal.

first one is the havok with a kind of technical display layer done in potatoshop over the top.

Second is a composite of the destroyer model (a polaris navy destroyer is the SMALLEST ship in the fleet..remember these guys have been isolated for over 600 years)

But hang on though... are you saying that that destroyer is larger than a system?! Or am I reading your image wrong?

There is a sun in between the engine of the ship. I think this is what the scales refer to, not the ship itself

Its more of a simplified system map.

The destroyer is the most common class of vessel, a total of 19 of them in the armed forces.

I was just messing around and thought it looked quite good :P

and err...those things are guns, not engines :P  its' facing towards the camera.

The white thing is the command deck.

Im working on a couple of other things atm, but im looking out for tips on scripting some kind of firing sequence...keyframing the whole damn thing isnt fun..

(lemme see....2 lights, 3 glows, 2 particle systems, the gun geometry recoil and the projectile+trails)

Animation.  bleh.
