Only a very small part of it. I know that Adelaide was not, nor I believe Melbourne, Darwin or Perth. Basically New South Wales and Victoria were penal colonies originally, and Sydney once was the site of a leper colony. (all of this from my wife's fuzzy recollections of her public education).

If even a tiny part of it was packed with criminals, eventually they were released into the general populous. And they bred. They bred like rabbits. Mwuhahahahahaha.

Setekh I know you just recently done the array design in the past few months, but an0n has a point, there are too many pages to browse through. Perhaps redesigning the interface using flash and dividing a years worth of images in 4 quarters or something similar to that. And by the way Thorn I have a dial-up 56k and I view the Array fine.

Flash? I think that would be overkill. On the other hand, a quarterly->monthly->weekly breakdown would be helpful. Also a cookie to set if you wanted to see the comments or not and another to set comments in forward or reverse temporal order would both be nice.

Those are just minor things. The Array as it is now, is pretty groovy.

Cool ideas, thanks guys. I'll buzz Cobalt and if he's not busy (heh, not likely - he's in demand  ), I'll direct him here and ask him to see what can be done.

Sandwich... you should be ashamed of yourself.   But thanks for rectifying it.

And yes deep_eyes, Steak of Steaks is me, because my Steak seems to be a good 3 or 4 times larger than a regular Steak... everyone seems to render it that way. Go figure.

PS. To all those complaining on dialup... I have dialup

Dude... what about the -you know what-...? that'll make it easier to browse things...

That said, monthly breakdown would be good...

I use 56K, it works just fine for me, and yes - the SoS is much larger than your average Steak...Don't know why though

Heh, I don't know either. First it was Starwing, then it was Carl... I think you're one of the few people to have actually rendered a proper Steak in correct proportions (though sometimes you do have an SoS...  ).

I feel it would be a good idea to start either a render/art specific forum or an http based site with open submission.

That way most of the artists here could get more exposure.

Having said that, everything on these boards DOES turn up on google search

Could do. But speaking of rendering, that's what the Hard Light forum started for in the first place.

Yeah really, this is supposed to be for art, but it seemed to have turned into the general purpose forum.  (which was also one of its roles)
WE ARE HARD LIGHT PRODUCTIONS. YOU WILL LOWER YOUR FIREWALLS AND SURRENDER YOUR KEYBOARDS. WE WILL ADD YOUR INTELLECTUAL AND VERNACULAR DISTINCTIVENESS TO OUR OWN. YOUR FORUMS WILL ADAPT TO SERVICE US. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
