How about a mission contest as well? While this is not strictly a focus of HLP, missions and campaigns are the ultimate aim, for which mods are created. It would have to be entirely mod free, and could be judged on things like difficulty, storyline, background, playability and fun. The only problem would be the amount of time judging it would take.

I doubt it, this is a model/render compo - not a Freespace mod compo... let her fly

Good. I am working on a mesh that's currently 23.5 kpolys. I hope i'll be able to make it good enough for submission. Lots of new stuff i haven't done before *thinks about texturing - shudders*

Remember that a good texture job takes the place of many not needed polys

But polygons are better.  After all, detail in the real world isn't cause by textures but by shapes.

Besides, 23.5 kilopolys is peanuts.  I can break that on my first run through a model before I get to the detail.....

So the breif is;
MODEL CONTEST

a model created from anytime now until the submission date, high or low poly.

RENDER CONTEST

any model(s) arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner.  Lighting, texturing and composition will form a big element in this.

Is this correct?

------------------
have you ANY idea of how much trouble you're in?
assault on a police officer.
Theft of police property.
Illegal possesion of a firearm.
FIVE counts of attempted murder.
That comes to...

twenty-nine dollars and 14 cents.
cash, cheque or credit card?
