Anyone remember that stuff called snow?
This is messed up folks.  Second winter in a row where we've basically made it to Christmas with no snow.  Oh we saw some flakes once in November.  They even stayed on the ground for nearly a whole 12 hours but then it melted.  That was it.  No snow...and its warm...even the sun comes out although it usually spends most of the day attempting to set.

Anyone remember when it was likely to be a white Christmas instead of this "snowballs chance in hell" likelihood?

Re: Anyone remember that stuff called snow?
Where do you live in Canada?  I live right here a couple of dozen miles south of the Canadian-American border, and we've had no snow at all.  It was almost 50 a few hours ago.

I ****ing love it too.

Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.

Yeah, Toronto has been crazy-go-nuts warm. This morning it was like 10C, I **** you not. If there's no snow come New Years I'm going to blame Harper and vote NDP in the next election. For all their faults at least the Liberals could make it snow when needed.

And by the way, all my Christmas' are white since my family doesn't take too kindly to coloured folk.

I live in an area of the US known for getting utterly blasted with snow in November.  I'm not talking 6-8 inches, but something along the lines of 18-24 inches a month before Christmas.  And it stays on the ground till February.  Guess what?  No snow here.  Zip.  Zilch.  Nada.

This year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address occurred during the same week.  This is an ironic juxtaposition of events--one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, while the other involves a groundhog.

Here in Michigan we got almost an inch back in mid-October.

Of course, there is nothing here right now. It sucks, too because it's just above freezing.

none happening here in the most of the uk either, alot of fog thats about it. i think around orkney there is snow. in the next few days there wont be snow, hell even scotland will be warmer than england and that does'nt happen too often due to the mexican gulf stream.

your culprit is global warming.

the last time i saw snow was last year around this time, alot of it, for about 2 weeks that was it(about 3-4 inches high).

El'Nino is your true culprit. With that el'nino in place we have a slight chance of seeing snow in the south Christmas night. :D

Re: Anyone remember that stuff called snow?
Yeah I'm about 35 minutes from Toronto down the highway.  Haven't seen much of the stuff for a while and its incredibly warm.  Thats fine by me...I love the summer....but usually I appreciate the summer more if we get some nice dumpings of snow.  Maybe close down work and stuff like that. Not likely to happen.

Re: Anyone remember that stuff called snow?
New Mexico (ironically) got hit with I suspect the same snow system Colorado got. We had ~8 inches, which probably doesn't sound like much to you northerners, but for us this is HUGE. Biggest single snowfall I think we've had in several years.

Of course, this being New Mexico, the weather turned on a dime and is now bright, completely clear sky, with lots of sunshine. It's almost warm enough for T-shirts.

I've never asked, but where exactly are you? Cause "35 minutes down the highway" sounds suspiciously like where I live (if by "down" you mean toward Missisauga). Also your street, house number and times of day when the place is left unattended would be helpful.

We need to get Hillary Clinton to tell Colorado to share its snow with the rest of the US. :p

Re: Anyone remember that stuff called snow?
Here it hasn't snowed heavily since 1985 (80 centimeters/30 inches, but I'm not sure... I wasn't born yet). All we had in these years is only some flakes that melt quickly.

Until last year.

I was at school with the scooter, and it snowed 20 centimeters/8 inches. 1 hour to do 5 kilometers with the scooter :wtf: By the next morning, we had 80 centimeters/30 inches.

However, I think that this year we are not getting any snow, it's too hot (we are around 0 Celsius).
