That's only leaked to show that yanks are doing "progress" with their little war on terrorism...

But what still makes me edgy is this:

Quote
The Bush administration has long claimed the right to launch discrete military attacks in other countries when terrorist targets have been identified.
Thats pretty arrogant, even for a mother****ing asshole american son of a ***** bastard.

Meh, like it really matters; Somalia's a ****-hole. There's a difference between striking within a coherent, stable nation, and striking within a nation held together by the warlord-of-the-month.

I couldn't care less about Somalia. But to go and "claim that right" is arrogant.

Re: and we start yet another war.
It's not their right and they know it. The US Administration may be a bunch of arrogant assholes, but they wouldn't intentionally create an international incident by striking at terrorists in a country actually worth a damn. At least, not with a freaking Spectre Gunship and 6,000 rounds of ammo.

No no no. You miss my point. I could walk on the street and claim the right to ass **** anyone I meet. That doesn't mean the I would do it, but it would still be very rude (to say the least). I could walk in to a store and declare that I consider it to be my right to grab whatever I like, free of charge. Regardless if I actually do, I'm sure the owner of that establishment would not appreciate my gesture.

Similarly. I Bush tells me that if I'd have a terrorist training camp in my backyard, he has the right to nuke it. Even if I know no such camp exist, and that the backyard happens to be worlds last oil spring (therefore reducing the chance of the nuking event), I would still consider it to be arrogant, rude, and unfriendly.

I know that Bush, his administration and anyone with the power to affect it, are not that crazy. But I still consider it to be arrogant.

Re: and we start yet another war.
I'd like to point out the fact that the Somali government was perfectly ok with what happened:

Quote
"The U.S. has a right to bombard terrorist suspects who attacked its embassies Kenya and Tanzania," President Abdullahi Yusuf told journalists in the capital, Mogadishu.

Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Aideed told The Associated Press that the U.S. has the Somali government's "full support."

You mean the Somali "government" which has no popular support, until two weeks ago controlled no territory and who came in under the protection of Somalia's worst enemy Ethiopia?

edit: by the way, the "Deputy Prime Minister" from whom the quote originated also happens to be a former US Marine. I've heard the term "puppet government" before, but this takes it to a whole new level.

This is not a war. A war is when two sides fight. This is the US doing whatever the hell it wants to in poor, ****ty countries because they have had their nose bloodied by the people of a slighty less poor, slighty less ****ty country. Typical bully behaviour. They can't pick on someone their own size, and if they try they get beaten up, so they find the smallest, weakest person to pick on and then congratulated themselves for a job well done.

I will also say that the Somali "transitional government" is quite cunning. By running around crying "Islamists!" and "terrorists!", they have gotten the US to back them in what is essentially a local power-struggle. A few weeks ago they were as good as dead, but taking a note from the KLA's playbook they manipulated the US into fighting their battles for them. Bravo. These are the same warlords which just a few years ago America claimed (rightly so) were causing Somalia to be lawless, violent, impoverished ****hole with their constant in-fighting. But now they're the good guys in the fight against the Big Bad Islamists, even though I have seen NO evidence that any foreign Islamists groups are operating in Somalia.

Islamism is the new socialism. If your country decides to choose a form of government not acceptable to the United States, your form of government will be...changed. With bombs.

And Rictor, while some of your comments are correct and others or not, I'm too lazy to reply to them point by point at the moment. Let's just say I disagree with some of your major points.

Not at all. But Canada hasn't been Islamic for the past 1000 years. Somalia has.

ok this is similar to what bush has already done, claim something fire on it only to find out its alot of civilians or what was left of them turned into jam.

similar to iraq claim something march in kill some civilians along the way then bomb the **** out of iraq killing civilians along the way.
what a co-incidence

Ok, A) it's not like Bush does it on purpose, B) it's not like he's the only president to have that happen under his term, C) it's not like he even has CONTROL over that, D) your opinion shows how uneducated are on the subject, and E) what the **** else did you just say?

I'm all for bashing Bush, but get your facts right and at the very least come off sounding like you know what you're talking about.

That's called collateral damage.  It's going to happen when insurgents hide among civilians, and especially when said insurgents set off bombs in densely-packed civilian marketplaces and police stations.  It's not all the US Army's fault that innocent people die in war.

There are two reason I refuse to take you seriously:
1. Your sig is longer than your post.
2. You're Canada bashing, which is a past time of your countrymen afaik.
