This may be a stupid question, and it probably is....

But what does D.H stand for in Artemis D.H ?

This is one of my favourite bombers. It has the maneuverability of a fighter, and the payload of a light bomber...guess that makes it a light bomber eh ?  ;7

If i need something more heavier, i use Boanerges. The only downside to both these bombers is their lacking of main guns.

Oh well, they dont really need em anyway. (except D.H , cause it doubles as a dogfighter)

Daring Hoax would be my bet.

Whoever manufactured the mentioned ship had some guts. They took battle-blackened Artemii bombers, installed the tail sections upside down and painted them black, red and with skulls on top.

Then they sold them to GTVA as "upgraded Artemis bombers". Knowing Command's skills in craft evaluation (ie. sad case of Boanerges supposedly being a viable tactical unit), they probably swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

Oh well. At least it has better camo against the darkness of space... :nervous:

Some custom campaigns suggested that ships with "D.H." in the name are ships refitted for use by SOC (much like the "M" prefix in US aircrafts' mission symbol).

unfortunaly, there is not any Developer notes on Artemis D.H in ships.tbl, but the description is this:

Quote
The GTB Artemis D.H. is an experimental variant of the standard Artemis class. The most notable change is that the Artemis's factory-issued Han-Ronald engines have been replaced by the same Nankam NA-27f powerplant now found in the GTF Ares fightercraft. The D.H. variant is faster and more maneuverable than the standard Artemis bomber, at no cost to armor or armament. During the OpEval period, Artemis D.H. bombers are being deployed in only select squadrons in different theatres of the war. If the evaluation trials go well, wider deployment of the Artemis D.H. class is expected.

Also there is a diference betren the weapons that may use....

 You're probably right, at least as far as the :v: development team is concerned. :D

The Artemis D.H is , by far, the best bomber in the game. It has the armor to go in and drops its payload, the speed and maneuverability to get out of there and dodge flak and beam and fighters, and to even hold its own in dogfights.

Also, its pretty sexy too

But the standard Artemis is just the same as long as playability is concerned. The only difference in single player is inverted tail and you getr a skull painted on the roof. I personally like standard Artemis paintjob way more than the D.H's...

Actually, the standard Artemis is an "X" tail, while the D.H. has an inverted "Y".

Yeah, I recalled wrong. Must have just been remembering two spikes up on standard and only one on D.H, hence the false memory.

I always liked the comment I heard once that the D.H was a reference to the skull and stood for Death's Head :)

Hey a question I can answer,[History] it is Death's Head simply; back in WW2,  the SS or Death's Head troops were in charge of "Special Operations" other than all of their other sick and genocidal duties. To put it bluntly they were the "Elite" and that would make it fit to the SOC doctrine and Specialized missions.Speaking of which are there any camps that are solely SOC out there or Under Development? I find the plot scemes fun kind of like Sol:A history.
