lol, I personally thought the Alliance ships looked stupid.
I mean seriously, that thing wouldn't stand up to even 1 shot from a naval railgun (in use today).
It also has way too many windows, it looks like a damn floating skyscraper!

Apparently someone in the Alliance fleet agrees with you, because we don't see a single one in the combat scenes in Serenity. They're probably just patrol ships.
