As likely as it is to end the universe by my agreeing with Pnak given our history, he's right you know. From ingame to cutsences this is just not going to work except for some odd one-off-mod.

The only turrets on the sides of the head are the main cannons and there is a place to put them.

Yeah that is really too bad, FS purists are so dumb. Then we wonder, why does no one try to remodel these ships anyways.

But, acceptance isn't what I'm going for, this is pure fun.

Why are purists "dumb," anyway?  Because we want to keep the models looking like the ones we've loved for years?  Because we think that did a pretty damn good job designing their ships?  Because we don't see the point in changing a ship to a level which completely negates any resemblance to the original?

(And, for the record, I'm 67% or so sure that Pnakotus was employing the fine art of sarcasm. )

Don't get me wrong here; I'm not bashing what you're working on, or your right as a modeler to make any changes to any ship you want, regardless of what anyone else thinks.  Hell, you could hang a giant disco ball from the bottom of the Demon for all I care.  (Come to think of it, there's at least one campaign maker out there who'd love that...)   And, to be honest, I think that those horns look pretty damn cool.  However, by you creating this topic in the Upgrade forum, you're semi-implying that it's intended as a revamping of a canon ship, not a total change.  I really wouldn't have any problem with this at all had you created this thread in Modding.  However, the way I see it, this forum is generally intended for HTL upgrades to ship models, not all-out re-imagining of them.

I know he was, it was why I used the fine art too.

This is revamping it, just wait until I'm done. Revamping it enough so it can stand up to the original Luci at least.

No... the horns dont fit with shivans. They're not mountain goats... they're spider-like aliens.

Do pay attention.  Of *course* it looks 'good' - WeatherOp is very good at what he does.  The point he takes such glee in, however, is that it doesn't look jack **** like the Demon part it replaces.

No what I take glee in, is looking though the concept art to get an idea of what shivan ships would look like if they were what wanted. Go take a look for your self, shivan ships were not supposed to be just red and spiky, but a demonic and organic, skeleton look. That is how I designed the Moloch, and is how I plan to do the demon and any other shivan ship I do.
