Whoa, calm down here.  Let's get a few things straight.

1) Centrixo, according to the ban log, you were being a jerk to other people on a regular basis and warned to cut it out.  When you didn't, you were banned.  It was only an enforcement of the rules.  Nothing personal, just business.

2) It was only a two-day ban, for goodness sake.  Long enough to make a point, but much too short to adversely affect any sort of project you were working on.  This forum is not a chat room; nobody cares if you're not here every single hour of every day.

3) This board is not run by Americans.  I'm the only American on a staff of 10 admins.  The others hail from Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Brazil, Finland, Sweden, Israel, and Australia.

4) Nobody told you that you couldn't develop your campaign here, or post it here, or any of that.  I have no idea where you got that impression.

5) And finally, if you're going to refuse to participate in the community just because of a single action by the administration, then Herra Tohtori is right, you are acting like a child.

EDIT: And Herra Tohtori isn't a "friend of the admins", as you put it.  Are you going to label everybody who disagrees with you as a teacher's pet?

But Centrixo, something you don't seem to see here is that no one, I repeat: NO ONE, is trying to "combat" you or eliminate you as a threat. I honestly cannot see how you got that impression. We are simply trying to get you to calm down a bit.

If you want to get philosophical about illusions, that's fine by me, but don't you think that if the admins only thought of themselves, they would rather buy themselves brand new shiny computers to play Freespace Open with than put money into expensive server hard- and software as well as ISP fees?

As Goober said, I have no particularly friendly relationships with the adminstration, but for some reason or another I have never had a single problem with any of them either.

But if you want to define friend like that, you're gonna have to say that everyone in HLP who has no quarrell with adminstration is admins' friend. I guess that works out too. Otherwise I would have say that you have some makings of a great conspiracy theorist.

Not just you what? You mean you're not the only one who thinks I've got my head up my ass? Well, that's an intereseting stance if I interpret it right (i think it was some kind of vague example, however). But who attacks whom? Are you attacking me, or do you perceive me as attacking you? Or is someone else attacking the supposed retards in every forum?

I don't deliberately misinterpret anything ever. I make interpretations by what I can understand about people's writings, and where you have meant something else that you write it's not my fault. Or perhaps I should just disregard everything you say as noise that can mean anything you want it to mean?

Negative. I saw you as a possible member of the community who could actually interact with others in some other way than on your one-way terms (that seems to be agreeing with you), but as I said, it's what you do that form people's view on you in Internet, and the picture is forming all the time. The picture seems to be that when people disagree with you, you become hostile. Make your conclusions about that if you wish.  

Think about it - what kind of a threat could you possibly be to either HLP or me personally? None whatsoever, ust like I am no threat to you. So please stop sparring, there's only your shadow to fight with. Only thing you are a threat to is your own credibility (or what is left of it), and relations to other forumites here.

This is my normal way of writing. Do a search and you'll find that most of my messages are like this. Although I would say that for most people my text is probably closer to intelligible than intelligent. But it's true that I don't hesitate to use long words.

You tell me pilot, I'm informed on a need to know basis. It's you who brought this mess any further than the end of your temporary ban. You deemed it necessary to try and exert some sort of "punishment" against the community. If you didn't want to talk about this, why do a thing like that in the first place and announce it publicly if you didn't want any response?

Anyway, this is my last message considering this matter. I feel that if this message is misinterpreted as badly as the previous, anything further I could write would not do any good, so...

Anyways, communities like this basically function - like real life - alongside the concept of people having basic respect for each other; politeness, mainly.  It's a little bit of a 'sharper' equilibrium than real life, though, because it's (i.e. any internet forums) a situation where there is almost complete anonymity and isolation - you can very easily have a poke and then run off never to be seen again.  The consequence is that, firstly, small insults can if allowed rapidly grow out of all proportion (usually into something involving all-capital text, poor spelling, bold words and - a favourite of a certain member-who-shall-remain-nameless-but-we-can-call-Mr-K - _underscored_ _text_ _like_ _this_ _but_ _also_ _red_) and secondly we have a sort of admin peer group to prevent stuff growing out of hand into playground fighting quickly.

Anyways, point being, if you go about insulting everyone like a petulant child, and then regard the consequences as nepotism rather than the response of moderator groups to someone acting like an arse, you will very quickly find yourself ostracised.  Much in same was as being barred from a pub for ogling the barmaid, spitting beer over other customers and refusing to pay for your pint. 

Really, it's up to you how you want to behave.

I have to correct this.

He annoys me like all hell, and frankly, yes, I am predisposed to take a combative posistion since he has basically proved to be everything that makes my Tuesdays (when I'm responsible for the online fiction group I help moderate) a living hell. I have long searched for an adequate set of descriptors for such people, but in the end it always defeats me. I'm not trying to chase him out, though arguably I would like to eliminate him as a threat by seeing him reform his behavior.

He happened to catch me in a bad mood one day, and I fear I threw the book at him in this regard. Perhaps that's what triggered this.

However I am in no sense a friend of the adminstration here. I've been monkeyed and temp-banned and argued with them 'til everyone was blue in the face. With friends like these...well, you probably know the rest.

forums are created for 'freedom of information act' and somewhere along the lines someone made a mistake in creating a position called an admin, basically a power abuser, and the freedom of information act has now became a set number of rules.

Centrixo, a final piece of advice.  If you've been kicked out of every online community you've been to, then maybe you should consider that your behavior is the reason, not the world out to get you.
