They're basically as close to forum hell as you can actually get without going to GameFAQs.

That place doesn't make any sense.
Every pilot's goal is to rise up in the ranks and go beyond their purpose to a place of command on a very big ship. Like the colossus; to baseball bat everyone.

You gotta admit this noob stuff is pretty funny to read, though.

Eh, yeah, titling my post "Alright, I admit it, I'm a n00b" prolly wasn't the best idea...

Okay, hang on.  I've been going to Spacebattles for a while and it's no where near forum hell.  The big feature of the board is the Vs. forum, where you can set up and debate battles between fictious forces that would normally never meet.  It's kind of fun, but Freespace is usually at a massive disadvantage there.  Otherwise, it's just a fun place to read some sci-fi talk, yak about games and such.

Forum hell, I believe, is the Jedi Council Forums.  My sister used to be a regular there, and it only got worse the longer she was there.

Nullified by the unstoppable subspace jump and the ridiculous damage output/durablity.

Perhaps it's the writer and reader of fanfiction in me, which cringes at crossovers. Or perhaps it's just the number of people who believe stardestroyer.net and god knows what else. Or the total inability to think logically.

EDIT: To be honest I've always wondered how they'd take me chucking Saberhagen's Berserkers at them, and toyed with the idea. It would be amusing certainly. The Berserkers are pretty close to unstoppable by most standards, being equivalent to a fleet of Death Stars in raw power, but far better designed and able to deal with all sizes of targets.

Re: SpaceBattles.com - does anyone know anything about it?
I seemed to have missed that post.

Anyway SB is a great site (IMHO) but depending on the mod at the moment, can be quite testy with noobs or totally noobish behavior.

I noticed your post about that "other" gaming forum (really, 4 New topic posts of essentially the same thing is a BIT excessive). Plus you really came of as possibly younger than your age. It didn't help matters you were falling for the behavior of obviously teen moderators/users.

It's very similar to how the whole BC3000 fiasco got started (NOT SAYING THE NAME), but you know what I mean.

Unfortunately for some banning, is a learning tool. I at least would have given you a warning first.

It's been a bit too long for me to remember, did you violate any of the "READ THIS NEW PEOPLE" rules???

As for logging on as "someone else"

1.) Totally immature and marks you as someone not to waste the effort in reforming.

2.) Follows you around. Results in a Permaban if I remember right.

Take your ban, if you go back try not to act so leet and eventually you can fit in.

Oh and while it's appreciated you pimping SCP on your first post (Admirable) many of us here have already done so for years (and out own individual FS2 projects like TBP, WC, Derelict, etc) I would have to look at your post before I judged it but maybe just maybe you carried your self off a bit odd or worse in the wrong section ;)

Thunderbolt from on high has struck, he he..

[edit]  you also did a violation (unless they deleted the thread, you did NOT post in the new members forum, which is mandatory for post count of 0 peeps, that's why it's in red letters telling you to do so at the top of the forum... That's fairly new I think maybe a year or two?)

[re-edit] There's got to be more to this story... Your post WAS deleted I couldn't find it, you have a ZERO post count, but you're definitely banned. BUT I did locate you in the member list. ;D

Re: SpaceBattles.com - does anyone know anything about it?
Yea, they deleted the post... the forum won't allow you to post anywheres else.  But was there any rules about the post in the new members section?  Maybe I shouldn't have included my SCP promo with it... :nervous:
And it said that I would never be re-instated...
PS I wasn't trying to act l33t, I was trying to inform people that SCP is l33t.. small difference.  ;)  (Maybe they confused the message for the messenger or something like that.)

Re: SpaceBattles.com - does anyone know anything about it?
Still it doesn't surprise me that they banned you. I've had people do similar things over at Game Warden and when I see a post by someone with no mention of anything from GW and a link to another site they're lucky if only the link it removed rather than simply getting banned.

While I'm happy to have people pimp out their work if they are members of the community I'm moderating for I tend to draw the line at posts for other stuff from people who showed no interest in my community except as a source of warm bodies.

Re: SpaceBattles.com - does anyone know anything about it?
...Right.  But SpaceBattles.com is, if I'm reading right, a forum for people who are interested in any space-based sci-fi... as such, I figured they'd welcome SCP with cries of joy and delight...  :doubt:  Oh, well
As for the Video Gaming Forum, well, obviously it's about Video Games, and Open Source highly-moddable ones are the best.  ;) IMO, anyways.

Re: SpaceBattles.com - does anyone know anything about it?
They do... They're just sick of hearing about it, especially if it you come off as a 'spam ad' type post instead of a real interested member of the forum... (did you even read what I posted?)

That's why I did not register at that site you posted to "help you out". What kind of attitude is that? For a adult (if you really are 22) you need to work on your online skills in regards to your forum postings,  because the impression I got was of a High school student or younger..

As for SB.Com The've been kept apprised of Fs1/2 and Open AFAIK since 2002!!!! (When I registered there). And many members here were members there long before that. So you got the hammer cause you annoyed them as "yet another Fs2nooblet preaching adnasium" I don't blame them. It's not a FS2 forum but if you bothered to use the search button Before starting a NEW THREAD. You would have seen the Hundreds of FS2 posts already in all sorts of relevant topics.

Myself, Piecepeck (however you spell it), WMCoolman, Singh, and a few others have Fs2 threads there and we've never been banned. (hehe, well P might have been once I dunno, or was that here?) :D

If you want to be the square peg forcing itself through a round hole you will find any forum very unfriendly...

I found this out the hard way with MacrossWorld... IF you come off the wrong way with the ROBOTECH word in the wrong section. you could get banned ;) (almost)... That's why read me threads and stickies are important to newbs/noobs.

My comments are done, this is beating a dead horse.

skimmed it, will re-read later...

just wanted to get their attention... I'm afraid I got it in the wrong way, however...
Also, I didn't want people to register just to help me out.  What I could have used was someone already registered and known in both the forums to moderate or some such.

Re: SpaceBattles.com - does anyone know anything about it?
I never saw much point about that forum, which is probably why my last post was taunting usa for sucking at curling compared to sweden some winter olympics ago. the vs forum is somewhat interesting some of the time, though.

edit: appears I have a whole 16 posts, and last visitititateded in june 2 years ago.

Re: SpaceBattles.com - does anyone know anything about it?
That's funny ****. Spacebattles.com still makes no sense to me at all though. It's pretty random as soon as you hit the website, trailers? for what? It's really an inconclusive website that really begged for more, but couldn't get it. It really seems someone just bought the address of spacebattles.com just so they have it before someone else could.

Idk why america sucks at curling, but i know part of the aspect of being good at something is how ecstatic you are about it. Such as why off in america we find out they have in canada, curling championships on tv and everyone on the show like the audience, host, and the teams are pumped up more than i've seen people pumped up for superbowl. Then again most of the time for an american, curling is just a smooth stone getting pushed over ice, and if it doesn't go boom, or is as crazy shaq and kobe on the same team then the average american will stave away from it. Maybe the americans in olympic curling were forced to play the game
