Voice Acting Campaigns
I need to ask, are there any other voice-acted campaigns other than Casualties of War 2 and Derelict?

I'm not a fan of non-voice acted campaigns given that I have no idea what is going on and can't have time to look at the top of the screen.

Re: Voice Acting Campaigns
Echo Gate and Phantoms were both voiceacted, IIRC.  One version of Awakenings and Destiny of Peace had full voice acting as well.

Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Echo Gate and Phantoms are in the above link.  The DOP and Awakenings voice acting I'm not sure of though, that might be a question to PM Admiral Nelson with (as he ported the two).

The list is still incomplete though.  Echo Gate and Phantoms, to name two, aren't in them.

Re: Voice Acting Campaigns
Destiny of Peace will be re released shortly, when one voice actor is finished.

I have already redone Boomerang with LS nebulae etc; it too needs one voice actor to finish the briefings (only the missions were voice acted)and it too can be rereleased.
If a man consults whether he is to fight, when he has the power in his own hands, it is certain that his opinion is against fighting.

Try hitting F4 in-game, then going to the messages section.

If no one has a copy I'm sure I do, somewhere.

It will be going up as FreeSpace Campaign Restoration Project campaign reasonably soon due to the fact it has voice acting most likely.

Really breaks the flow of the game you know having to constantly do that.  That's why I always avoid non-voiced campaigns.

Get Vista or AT&T's natural voice and then turn on voice synth.

Hell even MS Sam is better than nothing.

Learn to read faster.

Well, that becomes a problem with you are either A) not a native English speaker or B) distracted with not getting yourself or the ship you're defending killed.

you can't read the messages. for non-voice acted campaings you need a computer voice to have a clue what's going on.

I don't think I could disagree with you more; it's entirely possible to read mission text as it appears without having to go through any extraordinary measures.  All it takes is a second-long glance at the top of the screen.  I understand that it's a far more difficult prospect for non-native English speakers, and that for these people, hitting F4 every 5 seconds really isn't all that appealing of an alternative, but for anyone who's grown up speaking English their whole life, I have a hard time buying that it takes that much of an effort to follow along.  I've never once understood the "I don't play non-voiceacted campaigns" view from the day I first heard it, not only for the reason I listed above, but also for the sheer number of quality campaigns that have never received voiceacting versus the relative few that have.

Re: Voice Acting Campaigns
I can read the messages perfectly fine as long as there is a reasonable delay between them. I rarely have to go into the F4 screen. I would much rather read the messages than listen to the odd-sounding computer speech (or for that matter, voice acting of mediocre quality), which only detracts from the atmosphere.

As Mongoose said, there are plenty of otherwise excellent campaigns out there that lack voices. Only the high profile campaigns can get enough volunteers to cover all the voices.

what bugs me is when the first line doesnt fit on the screen, then you have to go to the message window.

I 100% agree with you on that. Blaise Russel's campaigns in particular are notorious for that, namely in scenes where is a long, in-depth, philosophical discussion going on between two characters or such.  Really ruins the atmosphere sometimes. :p
