Has anyone worked it out yet?  It can't be the clock surely, that must just be a side effect.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Well, it's almost the end of the day here. I think it's safe to say that this year's April Fools joke was a flop, whatever it was.

I think I know where the joke is, and if it is where and what I think it is, you wouldn't be laughing anyway :p

Edit : Though I must admit a good laugh myself. I want Extra Single Player!

They've been doing the same FS bashing for april fools, again, and again, and again.

We should all feel flattered to be on the recieving end of such obsession. Let's spam their board!

:wtf: Or not.

It is flattering that they remember us from year to year. It truly is. Truthfully, I had completely forgotten that they even existed until I saw the CIC ads again. I guess they would disappear from existence if nobody would remember them. :D

Well, it's April the second. Time to come clean!

First off, apologies to those who said "I'll bet the joke is that there is no joke". I lied, you were right. We didn't do anything and to those who spent any amount of time looking for something... gotcha!

Granted this is not the funniest thing we could do. But given recent events and a few other factors, I figured it would be safest not to go messing around with things right now. A number of the admins agreed.

Apologies to those who feel let down by the lack of any more substantial April Fools joke :)

As for WingCIC - I find it quite ironic that they resort to mentioning FreeSpace for their April Fools yet again. Is there really nothing amusing about Wing Commander that they could've picked up on this year? Are they really that obsessed with FreeSpace that they can't help but mention it year after year? These are questions I may not see answered - but it's funny to me anyway :D

Actually, I posted that purely to sow confusion and suspicion among your ranks. I have no more of an idea who's behind JohnDoe than you do.
