Saw it 2 days ago. It's about 75% whiny relationship drama and 25% action. The action bits were excellent, the rest not so.

There were two especially horrible moments:

Spoiler:
1) In the final fight, there's a scene where Spidey swings across the screen in slow-mo, with a giant USA flag in the background, which was cheesy beyond recognition. The whole cinema went " :ick: Was that really necessary ?"

2) Peter and MJ are holding poor dying Harry, all with tears in their eyes .... the scene seems to drag on forever and enters the realm of ridicule. Then when you think it cannot get any worse, Peter breaks out in tears like a little baby, and I **** you not, the whole cinema burst out in laughter. I don't think that comedy moment was intended by the director.

So overall, if you don't expect too much you'll be entertained. If you expect a spectacular action-rollercoaster (like I did), you might get disappointed. It's definitely weaker than the first 2 movies.

Saw it yesterday in Germany, reaction was the same. That scene was so ridiculous. -_-
But, well, all in all it was a good movie, especially the part where he's "evil". So funny.

Hey, give a little shameless patriotism a break.  :p

Overall, I was a little disappointed, but I was entertained during the flick. Meh.

No, but we were spoiled by the first Spiderman movie, which was arguably the best of the recent comic-to-movie adaptions.

I dunno, Batman Begins was actually rather good movie too IMHO, but very very different from Spiderman movies. Therefore it's difficult to say if it was better or worse than Spiderman movie(s)... but I enjoy watching both.

the flag sceen was all of 1.4 seconds of out of place film, it's easy to ignore if you'r not looking for something to ***** about, seriously you could blink and miss it. too much not-Venom not enough Venom, I _realy_ hope the next movie is 100% Venom, that's the only reason I went to see this.

Better than Batman Begins?

Hmm, good point. I haven't considered "Batman Begins" since it was quite different than the comics and all previous movies. But yes, that was excellent too, mostly because of Christian Bale and less because of its story.

Surprizingly, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie was not bad either when compared to the abysmal atrocities called Fantastic Four or Daredevil... It didn't quite reach the level of first Spider-Man movie or Batman Begins IMHO, but it was still decent movie when you compare it to most other recent comics based movies.
