Ok, here it goes....

We fear what we dont understand. and no matter what we are, we destroy what we dont understand. THis is my theory. The shivans had watched, fors thousands of years, species fight each other. They watched, and as their fear grew, so did something else. eventually they cracked, from the ancients entering their borders. They knew the ancients would destroy them easily. They cracked, all the fear turning into hate and anger. They hid away, deeper into their territory, making weapons, waiting for their chance to strike. They destroyed the ancients. THey had learned how to fight.

THis theory gets its designation from the word Xenophobic. It means (i looked this up) that they are hateful and Frightened of foreigners and strangers. as i explained, the fright leads the misunderstanding, misunderstanding to war. The shivans destroyed any species that got too close to their borders. Then came the TV war. The shivans watched as the terrans and the vasudans fought each other in extremely bloody, bitter battles. (  hate that) They tried to eliminate the threat. But the Terrans and vasudans were powerful, and and when allied they were able to defeat the shivans.

THis defeat brought more and more fear and anger. The shivans recoiled, then attacked again. I fear they will not stop until the GTVA has been wiped out.

The Shivans are 'born from the flux of subspace'. They could be a passive species but when the Ancients started using subspace and taking away their nodes they could get freaked out.

Yes, of course we have.

But the way the Shivans were presented in the game was as a gigantic enigma, answers about them leading only to more questions. Personally, I prefer them that way to any theory I've seen thus far. Yours is a good one, though not necessarily a new one. I've seen other theories along the same lines.

The great majority of theories about Shivans seem plausible from some (often most) angles.

If the Shivans wanted to wipe out the GTVA they would have done so with the Juggernaut fleet.

Their only concern is cutting the GTVA off from the Shivans. i think the Shivans knew something the GTVA did not. Or put it like this, humans have always been resourceful no matter how desperate the situation is. I think there might be something like a shivan control node, that is something like the hive mind of the borg. It could explain a few things, like Subspace, Zero-G and the Xenophobic Tendancies. to a point.

but there are more thories, Shivans could be hiding a much bigger fleet then 100 juggernaughts, there might be even more advanced ships. Who knows the Sathanas might be one of the oldest designs and the Shivans have some massive f*ck off ship hiding somewhere. and what the GTVA did or shall i say the Vasudans did, was scan the Sathanas before the main attack within the nebula beyond Gamma. if the GTVa could do that to a ship that size, i think the shivans would of known that when the GTVa find this ship and scan it, the GTVA would have more than enough info to reconfigure so much stuff.

Shivan Debris left behind from previous incursions, like the Battle of Deneb or the first encounter at Gamma at the knossos. the GTVA could of tested the wreckage through all tests, and sometime later the GTVA could destroy these Shivans without much trouble. i think the Shivans knew what capabilites the Vasudans and the Humans had. who knows the Metal composition might be just some simple coding that the beams are not hitting.
