Your favovorite movies
Dawn of the Dead (1978)

It's the system shock 2 of movies.

Re: Your favovorite movies
Does this count?

Gravemind's intro in Halo 2...

"This. is. not. your grave ... but. you are welcome....in it"

\Arbiter struggling against Gravemind "Stop. I'd rather not piss this thing off..."

The best one though:

"This one is machine and nerve, and has its mind concluded. This one is but flesh and faith, and is the more deluded."

"Take my love. Take my land. Take me where I cannot stand. I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me. Take me out to the black, tell them I ain't comin' back. Burn the land boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me. There's no place I can be since I've found Serenity. But you can't take the sky from me." - Ballad of Serenity

Bladerunner!!!!!

Best ever, there is some amazing cinematography in that film (Ridley Scott same as Aliens), with some of the best dialogue in the world!

Re: Your favovorite movies
Ridley Scott did the cinematography in Aliens? I didn't know that. I know James Cameron directs but if Ridley's in there too that's pretty cool. Aliens is in fact one of my favourite movies. It's a rare sci-fi movie that presents a gritty realistic view of the future, and it refuses to dumb down. Well the director's cut does anyway. They removed the automatic sentry guns from the cinema release so the "All we need now is a deck of cards" line from Hicks just made everyone go  :wtf:
Be warned: This site's admins stole 100s of hours of my work. They will do it to you.

Oh, and Spartan: No, that doesn't count. That's a ****ing stupid choice. Choose another before I have to throttle you.

I beg your pardon, Ridley Scott directed Alien (the original) not Aliens (the sequel). Wiki link. The better film IMHO.

I tend to think that comparing Alien and Aliens is rather pointless. Despite the same characters and universe they're actually quite different genres. It's like comparing Saw and Saving Private Ryan.

Besides people who like either movie should be complaining about how **** the 3rd and 4th film were instead.

To this day, my favorite movie would have to be Ghostbusters.  Best comedy in the 80s by far IMO.

Ghostbusters 2 was horse****.  EDIT:  By comparison

Memento, Serenity, Schindler's List, and a live-action film directed by Hideaki Anno (Evangelion) that I saw recently called Shiki-Jitsu.

Fine, if I can't use a Halo 2 cinematic sequence, it'll have to be Serenity...

Agreed.

I actually didn't think Resurrection was that terrible, though.  Certainly better than the third, at least.

Re: Your favovorite movies
Special Edition/Assembly Cut of Alien 3 is the best of the lot for me, can't really explain why.

Favourite film ever is Shaun of the Dead though Matrix would be up there if not for the crappiness of its sequels.
