Hmm.  Right.  But they aren't supposed to become competition squelching monopolies.  the $ is there to remind you that they are.  For a company that makes billions of dollars on their OS, they can't afford to get bugs fixed in a decent timeframe, if at all?  And it took Mozilla FireFox to get them to introduce tabbed browsing and a modicum of security into their browser?   Among other things....

Bug fixing for windows sounds like a living hell.  You would have to check, re-check, re-check, re-check, and re-check everything you did, and make sure it was compatible with every possible configuration someone could use.  So I can see why it would take them a while to get bug fixes out.

Idiots who make these kinds of videos deserve to be castrated.  They are in no way funny, and actually quite inaccurate.  Whoever thought it was funny need to get their head examined.  Not to mention the fact that every single Mac enthusiast is a bastard child of Ann Coulter and Adolf Hitler.  ****ing maccees...  They piss me off.  Oh, and lets not forget about Firefox.  Any dip**** who sees Firefox and thinks it's the best browser needs to remove themselves from the gene pool.  A very late featured browser with more memory allocation problems than an Alzheimer's patient.  Good job.  And we owe it all to a bunch of pricks over at the University of Ohio for shoving that garbage down our throats.  The idiots who praised it for being 'open source' deserve a commendation too.  Nevermind Opera was always a superior browser, and nevermind Firefox stole everything that Opera made, the University of Ohio needs to line its pockets with gold by using stupid and gullible people to do their money laundering for them!  Woh-Pah!  Lets all masturbate to Steve Jobs and the University of Ohio!

Hmm.  Mayhaps the fact that FF is free software would tend to make me agree with your edit.    I'll check Opera out, mayhaps you're on to something... last time I tried to get Opera, I seem to remember having problems.  Was it not freeware at one point?

Yeah, a while back Opera had some register fee, meaning that you could use it for free but you'd see some ads on the top row or something. Paying some amount and registering it would remove the ads. They've since declared it freeware, or something, anyways meaning that it's free and you don't see any ads anymore.

Personally I like FF, because
1. It's free
2. It's safer and more reliable than IE
3. It's not loaded with God knows what when you install it, but rather you can easily install/uninstall additional features if you want to
4. In my use, it has shown every site correctly, unlike Opera that somehow messed up the HLP front page.

3.  Opera isn't installed with anything at all.  But I will give Firefox credit for the extensions idea.
4.  That's one advantage Firefox and IE have over Opera...  Opera doesn't render pages well that aren't correctly written.

The last time I checked, the Opera had extra features like an email client, an instant messaging client and a torrent thingie. Therefore I state that Opera is installed with something that I deem unnecessary for a browser.

I did try Opera for a while. The main points for stopping were the problems with pages, such as the HLP front page, and the feeling that Opera just isn't... like me. Unlike FF. You seemed to state that Firefox has ripped almost everything from Opera and I have to say that it suits my personality quite well. Don't reinvent the wheel; wait for someone to do it and then snatch the idea. Yeah.
