Ancient ships blues FRED errors
Hi I hope some can help me with this. I am to start work on the last Boiwar campaign, a campaign set I start a long time a go. I can do this now as now there are the ancient ship I need out there to fish the campaign off. I am trying to use the ancient ships from the Inferno campaign. I can get but two to work, AB Satyr and the AB Atties. When I open FRED I get some error to do with names of subsystem and a few other errors. Removing these ships from the ships.tbl file stops the errors from coming up.

I have unpacked all the files from the inferno campaign into there directories but I am still getting the same errors. I have looked at the ship tables but I must me missing something or some files some where does any one how to these ship to work?

Which version of FRED you using? Open? And if so, which version of Open?

Actually, I have no idea why they wouldn't be working... they were designed for retail...!!!! IDEA!

Check the table entries for tags that say $ND or something like that. Those should be deleted if you're using Open.

hi i am using fred2_open_3_6_9.exe with the lastest open freespace as well. I look for the $ND and see if they have any.

Ah, the ND thing would explain why (was it the copernicus?) isn't working. i saw those in teh tbl

Nope there are no $ND enters in the ship.tbl file I have edit the AB Satyr to look more like the AB Zakros which does work but this has not helped me.

I have change the race from Vasudan to Terran but it not this as I do this on all the ship. I have pof in the models directory and pcx are in the maps directory.

Ok, IF your tables work without the 2 ships, have you considered deleting the bothersome entries and copying a entry that works? Keep a copy of the original entry though. Make sure your duplicate altered entry now works fine with just name and model change and then slowly rebuild the original data, occasionally checking it still works as you put more of the original stats in.

If you end up restoring all stats and the table works success! If not, some where along the way you find a capatability error (Robotech has this problem as tables crash FSOpen even after deleting all $ND tags as well, couldn't SEE anything wrong, must be hidden corruption).

yes i have removed them for now i was hoping to get working that all. could it be a missing file / files that is Causing the problem or corruption in a file.

could you send me the files i need for these ships so i can see if it a corruption in a file.
or is it a missing entery in a other *.tbl file
