Re: So... any semi-promising upcoming space sim?
Looks and sounds interesting, but the fact it's an MMO has me worried.

Re: So... any semi-promising upcoming space sim?
Is Black Prophecy MMO only? Thats what it looks like but I"m not sure.  It looks sweet but I hate MMO's bc I have slow internet and they cost too much.

Edit:  Nevermind, the post above me answered my question

"The Tomorrow War" seems to be interesting!

Yeah, if it's translated from Russian well that is, (with decent voice acting).

AFAIK it will be released in spring 2008, but I don´t know if that´ll be the english version.

There was some Russian one, from Akella Studios. I forget the name; I though that it was [Latin]Blank Slate[/Latin].

FreeSpace is fun don't if me wrong i think it's great. But nothing has engaged me to the level that wing commander has since the mid-late nineties. Starlancer came close. Once someone cracks that formula, (prays to chris roberts) I'll be a happy man.
Campaigns I've added my distinctiveness to-
- Blue Planet: Battle Captains
-Battle of Neptune
-Between the Ashes 2
-Blue planet: Age of Aquarius
-FOTG?
-Inferno R1
-Ribos: The aftermath / -Retreat from Deneb
-Sol: A History
-TBP EACW teaser
-Earth Brakiri war
-TBP Fortune Hunters (I think?)
-TBP Relic
-Trancsend (Possibly?)
-Uncharted Territory
-Vassagos Dirge
-War Machine
(Others lost to the mists of time and no discernible audit trail)

Tarr Chronicles. There's been a couple of threads about it. General consensus is it's a disappointment.

The graphics sure are pretty enough, the cinematics are cool and the combat is almost identical to FS, but somehow it just doesn't add up. Now those are my impressions judging solely by the demo, but I don't hear much critical acclaim coming its way.

Played all the WCs. Freespace's story was far more immersing and realistic - to me at least, than any of the WCs.

WCI andWC II came close... but that is about it.

I've tried some of the latest space sim that were released but none of them has the same quality and esence like Freespace does.

Does anyone knows about "The Precursors" ?
Seams like a mix of FPS and Spacesim. From the few screens I have seen FS upgrade and mods look better.

I hope to have more news soon about "dark matter: the baryon project" from pixelcage. Though it's not impossible they change it's name to "supernova".
