The original of this one was quite bad, though in the game I recall it being a ground hugging nightmare to to eliminate. For open space flight, it really needs an engine on the upper rear, but I couldn't come up with anything that looked good. The bump on top is for mounting a turret.

I suppose it could be a cargo container carrier now- or bring those "legs" up to bring the engines up to the sides. Give it a look from the top and it has a menacing silhouette.

Exported .obj, "symmetricized" .cob and rebuilt .cob versions included in the ZIP.

Weird ship. Perhaps too weird; I dunno if this fits with most of the rest of FS's ships. It's uh, kinda ugly too, no offense...

Dude, did you actually read his post? The ship is a remake from another game therefore it is not supposed to fit with the freespace universe and he did not come up with the design, therefore I doubt he will be offended if you tell him it's ugly (unless he really likes terminal velocity).

(calm down) I just figure if you're going to port a ship to FS, excluding those for stand-alone mods, you oughtta make it fit into FS. Otherwise, what's the point of porting it?

They are no uglier than anything that shipped with Freespace right from the get go. You did a half decent job there, with no reason not to take pride in your work.

They originally had pilots, but I believe the PDCs assumed control of them. Presumably the pilots were killed or forced out of the aircraft -- or they were simply launched without pilots.

Really? It looks like the combination of a Star Trek shuttle and a shrunk Klingon Bird of Prey. No offense to the modeler of course. You did not design the ship, merely ported it to FreeSpace, ergo you are not to blame for its fuglyness.
