MySpace is crap. It's full of assholes who do nothing but - as you say - post crappy pictures, bad poetry and bulletins about how their best mate kissed their ex and how unbelievable life is etc. etc.

Facebook on the other hand, has put me back in touch with a lot of people I'd have otherwise lost contact with - and I'm happy about that. It has even found use in my university lecture units, as one of our lecturers uses the "events" system to organise deadlines and what have you. In short - it can be really useful. Of course if you're friends with 100 14 year old emo kids then you deserve what you get.

Facebook  is a lot better than myspace, because there is a lot more control over it.  It's also a lot more useful becuase of the events system and the groups (which are useful, when not used for stupid purposes).
