Although in all seriousness, it's the farthest you can get from Europe without a culture shock. Plus Christmas on the beach ftw.

I've always enjoyed it when I've spent time in England, the people are nice and hospitable for the most part plus it has the added bonus of not needing to learn a new language. It's also a very typical country as far as how the society works, so it won't be too hard to fit in. All of that also goes for Scotland too, though it's a bit colder and wetter and a bit further from everything but I'd also say the people are a bit more friendly and open - Scotland is one of few countries I've visited where I've found myself ending up in random conversations with random strangers for no particular reason (has happened in England too, but there it is rather rare).

France? Probably a bit of a culture shock for anyone who isn't french, and traffic in the larger cities will probably get you killed, but the food is nice and so are the frenchmen if you speak the language. I've never stayed there for more than 2 weeks at a time though so I can't go much deeper than that.

For scandinavian countries, they're all very much alike as societies go, all with high living standards, free education and healthcare, and very high taxes to pay for it all. Of the three I've been to (haven't visited Finland... yet) I'd say Sweden is a bit more open and friendly towards foreigners than the rest of us are.

I don't smoke weed myself, but yeah, that really is one of alaskas triumphs. It's just not hard to get a hold of it here, and there's tons of it.

Come to Upstate New York... THEN you'll have a reason to want to emigrate! We have four seasons--chilly, frozen, wet, and mosquitoes. Bars and pubs around, though very few clubs. No sun for much of the year. Go to Saratoga County and you'll be in one of the few places that the slump and housing market haven't reared their ugly heads.
