Well in that case, pretty much none of the sci-fi games out there are reasonably accurate LOL.
I'm not looking for the beat up junker look, just the used look, hasn't gone through a car wash and buff LOL.
For the lasers, I used the game effects on a plane, (diffuse, glow and transparent are all the same texture). I linked them to the turret and rotated the turret to some angle, and then rotated the laser plane so it's facing the camera. Same thing with the engine thrusters.
1) Yes, somewhat. I liked the shiny/plastic look the ships originally had in WC2 and WCArmada's manual

.
2) Ok, as long as you don't overdo it

.
3) Thanks

. Seems like, for wallpapers, this is a pretty straightforward idea... It's just that I thought more along the lines of something that could be used in rendering a video, too (my first try with transparent, light-emitting tS-objects wasn't too promising :-/ ) ... But nonetheless, your tip is helpful, thanks again

.
Oh, another thing I last time only noticed after logging out:
I'll have to rebuild this entire thread, or start a new one again when I get things done.
...

...
As I mentioned somewhere earlier in the thread (or was it even an older thread?) , this STILL is a Jalkehi from WC2, not a Jalthi from WC1 !
Not to clamour about it's looks - your re-interpretation of older WC-ships into WC3/4-style is usually pretty good

(I just somewhat dislike your Bloodfang, but well, maybe that's just personal taste...) .
Btw. I had started rebuilding a few WC-ships for myself during the last years, in my thread there's a pic of my Jalkehi (though its texture still needs a bit detailing), and I also started a Bloodfang and a Shok'lar... Might post pic of the Bloodfang soon, just not now as it's certainly bedtime
