Sorta.... this one's much bigger and better armed. I couldn't find any really useful pics just some snapshots of the real one so this one is probably off here and there.

TCC Essex (heavy cruiser)
The front half underwent a major makeover from the original. The two hangers were removed and replaced with 4 (2 on each side) launch tubes

Yes, I also recall him saying that Essex is the result of mergining Confederate and Kilrathi designs into one ship.

Pretty much. The original was a Fralthi 2 x Ranger x Hades.
Just about finished with it... next up Excalibur.

I'm not sure I really like the PTC, it makes battles too quick, perhaps an upgraded plasma gun version like the Tellie has.
BTW in easy mode the fralthi and it slowly trade fire, the essex will likely loss one of it's big guns. In insane, the fralthi goes down in about a minute or less.

Totally rebuilt from the ground up. I used limdaepl's excalibur as a template.

If the parts with the little fins on it could rotate you could say this is an upgraded Excalibure that also uses rotatable engine parts like the Vampire or Panther from Prophecy.
Could be quite interesting ^_^

Improved pitch and yaw would be the first things that would be improved and with that possibly better prophecy armor, sorta a big brother to the original.

Originally I was going to have two classes (an upgraded Excal. and a modified thurst vectored sibling Excelsior class, but I ended up throwing them into one.

Yup, I've made requests in the past. I've got several fighters that could use it (vampire, valkarye, falcon, viper and now the excal. Also a possible thurst vectored raptor is a possibiliy).

That Excalibur (I don't completely enjoy the texture on it though) is godly, when can I fly that beast?

When you get to the R's will you remake the Raptor in more of its original style as well?
