Anyone live in the Seattle, WA area
So... i'm currently in the process of being interviewed by a certain company that has offices in kirkland, wa (not in redmond.. phew) and my next step in the process is to be flown out to their main offices in mountainview, ca.

If I get the job I am going to be moving out to the kirkland area in january 09.  I need to find an apartment that doesn't cost me arm+leg+testicle.

my current apartment here in fly over country costs me $750/month comes with expanded basic cable, internet service and fitness membership (and there is a built-in-laundrymat) - we have 2 cats, 2 (small) dogs.

it's 2bed/2bath, 990 sq feet (here.. floorplan: apartment six: http://www.jensengroup.net/locationDisplay.php?locationid=9 )

looking for something within about 30 minutes driving time of kirkland that doesn't cost an extreme amount.

Re: Anyone live in the Seattle, WA area
the only place i would really know about would be the Ballard/Crown Hilll area just north of downtown Seattle, condos/apartments just keep going up (its quite annoying, they have taken out some of the better places to eat in historic downtown Ballard) and its one of the better areas of Seattle. Other then that i would recommend getting something in or around Kirkland
TMF? what the hell is the TMF?

I live in redmond and I like it here :D

I suppose this means that kirkland will be classified as a toxic waste dump by January 10? :P

... I find the fact that Kazan will soon be within 200 miles of my house very disturbing.

I've got family up in Bellingham but methinks that's a little far for what you're looking for.

I'm not sure about the prices down in King County, but in Bellingham I'm paying a little less than you are for a comparable place.

having one of the most respected, original members and pioneers of the freespace community, (whose programs are used in basically every MOD ever created for the game) staying 200 miles from you SCARES you!?

i hope you're kidding.  i WISH there were another oldschool Freespace fan who lived nearby.  You can never have enough friends :)

I wasn't being serious, it was a playful prod at the programmer stereotype - can you lighten up a bit? Christ.
